I didn't realize you can't have an attorney with you in front of a grand jury. No wonder people get antsy about GJ subpoenas. By the way, Bannon has already been subpoenaed to appear by Mueller. I've read that there is room for that to change if Bannon would agree to a voluntary interview. Why would Mueller drop a GJ subpoena in exchange for a voluntary interview? Haven't read any reason for that possibility. I think it's not likely. the GJ route gives Bannon an out anyway: look, Donald, I had no choice. If he still cares what Donald wants after the treatment he's been getting.
Like with Jeff Sessions. And they let him get away with it.
And, perhaps here we should mention that they let Don Jr get away with claiming lawyer-client privilege for a conversation he had with his father because he said there was a lawyer in the room.
If these liars and criminals are getting away with not answering questions put to them by the congressional committees, what good are those committees? Rhetorical question. You don't have to answer.
...but hey, do what you want...you will anyway.
UPDATE:
So, even in an interview setting, Bannon would need a different lawyer.
I don't know about that, but it would seem most logical that Priebus would be cooperating, and I've often wondered if Bannon is.
Also see next post.
UPDATE:
I suppose he could always be brought before a Grand Jury later. On the other hand, it still seems suspiciously like he might have been cooperating with Mueller, and the GJ subpoena was for show to the Trump cabal. Who knows?

...but hey, do what you want...you will anyway.Steve Bannon, President Donald Trump’s former chief strategist, has agreed to be interviewed by special counsel Robert Mueller’s team about possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia during the 2016 presidential election.
Mueller formally subpoenaed Bannon last week to testify in front of a grand jury, a move some saw as a ploy by Mueller to push Bannon to speak to his investigators in private. And it seems that gamble paid off.
