If he's talking to Nancy, and not his base...

...then I think he might be in for a surprise.

Nancy is in a very fine place with those things to start her tenure.  They're actually losers for him, not her.  In fact, Nancy already informed him that he's not good at second guessing her.

...but hey, do what you want...you will anyway.

Seething somewhere

There's been not a twit of a tweet coming from His Lardship today.  Correction: for the past 7 hours of today.  He did post a couple tweets this morning around 8:30 Eastern.

I'd like to think it's because his head actually did explode when the AMI plea news came out right after Cohen's attorney's mention that Cohen would be telling everything he knows after Mueller finishes his case.

Seething somewhere so hard he can't tweet

It was Pence's fault!

Also:  he's the one who called the press in.  Pelosi and Schumer both said they weren't expecting that, and Pelosi kept trying to get him to take it private.

Jesus, he's disgusting.

Who is dumber than Don Junior?

That's right.  Ted Cruz.

But, in the end, she was forced to do it.

And Trump thought he could win some TV points.  I'm still laughing.

Brought it on himself

Los Angeles Times White House correspondent Eli Stokols reported Tuesday that President Trump "stormed out" of the Oval Office after his contentious meeting with Democratic leaders and threw a folder full of papers out of frustration. “He stormed out of the Oval, walked into an anteroom just off the Oval Office and had in his hand a folder of briefing papers. And he just scattered them out of frustration — threw them across the room," Stokols said on MSNBC's "Hardball," citing his own reporting with White House officials.

"His old New York sparring buddy, he felt, got the better of him," Stokols said.

From the Guardian:  Nancy, realizing she was going to have to bring out the guns and thinking she should have worn the pantsuit.

And, speaking of fashion choice, I wonde what he was thinking when he chose a blue tie for this.

Leon of the olden ways

Au contraire, Leon.  It entertained us mightily.

Nancy is going to get some scorching tweets

She's redeeming herself a bit in my eyes.
Minutes after a very public showdown with Donald Trump over his border wall with Mexico, the California Democrat returned to the Capitol and railed against the president in a private meeting with her colleagues.

Trump “must have said the word ‘wall’ 30 times,” the House minority leader said, according to multiple sources in the room.

“I was trying to be the mom,” she added, but “it goes to show you: You get into a tinkle contest with a skunk, you get tinkle all over you.”

And then, Pelosi went for the most sensitive part of Trump’s ego.

“It’s like a manhood thing with him — as if manhood can be associated with him,” she deadpanned. “This wall thing.”

Congressional Democrats are feeling smug — and actually a little excited — for the looming shutdown fight with the president after Tuesday’s Oval Office meeting.

  Politico
Great, but the rest of us are getting a little nervous. There's no telling what the lunatic might do.
“The Trump shutdown is something that can be avoided and that the American people do not need at this time of economic uncertainty, and people losing jobs and the market in a mood and the rest,” Pelosi told reporters as she was leaving the White House meeting. “It is a luxury — the Trump shutdown is a luxury that the American people cannot afford.”
And when did Trump give a shit about the American people?
“The press is all there! Chuck is really shouting out. I was trying to be the mom. I can’t explain it to you. It was so wild,” she said, later adding: “But the fact is we did get him to say — to fully own that the shutdown was his — that was an accomplishment.”

On the campaign trail, the president had vowed that Mexico would pay for any southern barrier — not the United States. Pelosi and Schumer reminded him during the rare public meeting Tuesday that he failed to keep this vow.

[...]

At one point, after reporters and TV cameras left the Oval Office, Trump told Pelosi and Schumer that the new trade agreement he recently struck with Canada and Mexico was going to pay for the wall, Pelosi told lawmakers.
OMG! Did they wet their pants?
In private, however, Trump suggested both U.S. neighbors would pay for the construction with the new NAFTA agreement.
Eyeroll.
"If we don't get what we want ... I will shut down the government,” Trump said in the Oval Office before a room full of reporters and TV cameras. “I am proud to shut down the government for border security... I will take the mantle. I will be the one to shut it down. I won't blame you for it."
I wouldn't worry if I thought shutting down the government was the only thing he'd do if he can't get his way.

I may have to reconsider Nancy's remark about telling him to pray about it.  That may have been another poke at the bear.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez two doors down from her is doing Nancy some good.

UPDATE:

LOLOLOL

And what the hell was this?

Uh-oh, Nancy is arguing with him on camera.  And Schumer is pointing his finger in Trump's face and claiming he wants to shut down the government because he can't get his way.  And worse!

What was he thinking putting this on camera?

Pence looks half dead or wishes he were.   And never opens his mouth.  Maybe he's afraid he's going to throw up if he does.  He looks like he's going to.

I bet White House staff are running for their hiding places right now.

This was before their actual meeting?  I'm sure that went well.

Dems:  This was great!
Republicans:  How dare those two be so disrespectful!

Trump on the ropes.

Watch for an exploding head any day now.

UPDATE:
Watch as Pelosi tries, not altogether angrily, to explain to him that he doesn't have the votes for the big, beautiful, stupid wall for which, of course, Mexico is going to pay. She says the votes aren't there. He keeps saying he can get them instantly, but that the problem is that he can't get the votes in the Senate. They're both right. He doesn't have the votes in either place. But he runs down all the applause lines that get the rubes all ginned up at his rallies, and Pelosi keeps calmly telling him that, while he's as full of shit as the Christmas goose, nevertheless he and his big, beautiful, stupid wall should get further stuffed anyway.

[...]

She knows he's a loser here, and she will patiently explain how he's a loser as many times as he wants to say he's not.

[...]

Even Schumer suddenly discovers a thin vein of iron in his spine and maneuvers El Caudillo del Mar-a-Lago into bragging about shutting down the government unless he gets his way, thereby undercutting any political strategy the Republicans in Congress might have been developing to blame a prospective shutdown on the Democrats. That sound you hear is the Republican congressional leadership taking delivery of a barge-load of bourbon.

[...]

As I said, this was a notable exchange only in that it happened among American politicians. There are exchanges overseas that make this sound like a Sunday school chorale. But that's what makes it all the more compelling. It happened here, and in the White House, and in the president*'s face. Fundamentally, this was mockery, and eminently well-deserved. And, in case anyone, including the president*, missed the point, Pelosi was more than happy to sharpen it for him. From Politico:
“It’s like a manhood thing with him — as if manhood can be associated with him,” she deadpanned. “This wall thing.”
  Charles P Pierce

Also Trump:  And if I can't get the money and if the military won't build it, I'll shut down the government.  Proudly.

LOL.

From CBS White House correspondent:

I'm dying.
