Thank you, President Trump

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- 55-year-old Alan Viarengo is facing felony charges over threats of violence made against Santa Clara County Health Officer Dr. Sara Cody, according to court documents.

[...]

Dr. Cody is regarded as the first health official in the country to issue a ban on large events and later a shutdown to curb the spread of coronavirus in the early days of the pandemic.

Cody and other county health officers and state officials have received an avalanche of threats leading to several stepping down.

[...]

[Viarengo] is accused of stalking and making several threats of violence against the top doctor in the South Bay since March. He is also accused of publicizing Cody's address.

Court documents show the series of at least 24 letters that included a pornographic image, vulgar profanity, threats of a "bloody revolution ending her" and at least one message said, "you are done, say goodbye."

[...]

Some of the letters also include phrases like, "let's boogie," leading law enforcement to believe Viarengo may be connected to the extremist Boogaloo movement.

On Monday, a gun violence emergency protective order was filed against Viarengo. The Santa Clara County Sheriffs Deputies confiscated a number of firearms.

According to the protective order, 16 shotguns and four handguns are registered to Viarengo.

Viarengo appreared in court on Tuesday and his attorney, Dennis Luca said, "He is a teacher, he is a firesarm instructor, he is well respected within the community and poses no threat to Ms. Cody."

No words.
Gavilan College President Dr. Kathleen Rose said Viarengo has been replaced with another instructor.
Well, I should hope.
Lt. Omori with the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office says, "we believe that there are (more) victims out there and we would like to ask at this time for those victims to come forward."

Far-right arrests in Vegas

Three far-right followers have been arrested at Las Vegas protests over the killing of George Floyd, an unarmed Black man, by police and charged with inciting violence.

The plot was reportedly foiled with help from an informant.

Stephen Parshall, 35, Andrew Lynam, 23, and William Loomis, 40, who allegedly belong to the "boogaloo" movement, all live in Las Vegas where they were arrested on Saturday by an anti-terrorism unit headed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

[...]

Reports of far-right activists, sometimes heavily armed, infiltrating the protests over the past week have included several claiming to be part of the "boogaloo" movement.

[...]

If convicted on federal charges, the men face up to 30 years in prison. They were also indicted on state conspiracy to commit terrorism and other charges, which carry heavier sentences.

The boogaloo movement?
The "boogaloo" movement, which has adopted Hawaiian shirts as a uniform, promotes "a coming civil war and/or collapse of society", said the Nevada US Attorney's Office on Wednesday.
Trump's wearing a Hawaiian shirt under his suit at all times, isn't he?  His pajamas are Hawaiian print.
According to a report by the Network Contagion Research Institute, the group wants a second civil war organised around the word "boogaloo".
The Boogaloo Wars.
A charge sheet said the three men's initial plan was to "firebomb" a power station to distract authorities as they incited a riot. They also intended to take Molotov cocktails to a Black Lives Matter protest.
I have a feeling the plan would have failed to get the Boogaloo war they want. These aren't the brightest bulbs on the Christmas tree.

Also, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, right?
