Do you see a crown floating above his head?  Me either.  They made his hair look like normal hair. They made him look almost like a normal person. And they were too ashamed to make the title of their magazine stand out like it normally does.

WaPo among corporate news to feel resistance

Ann Telnaes, a Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist for The Washington Post, said on Friday evening that she was resigning after the newspaper’s opinions section rejected a cartoon depicting The Post’s owner, Jeff Bezos, genuflecting toward a statue of President-elect Donald J. Trump.

In a brief statement posted to Substack, Ms. Telnaes — who has worked at The Post since 2008 — called the newspaper’s decision to kill her cartoon a “game changer" that was “dangerous for a free press.”

“In all that time I’ve never had a cartoon killed because of who or what I chose to aim my pen at,” she wrote. “Until now.”

In addition to Mr. Bezos, the founder of Amazon, the cartoon depicted Meta’s founder, Mark Zuckerberg; Sam Altman, OpenAI’s chief executive; Patrick Soon-Shiong, the owner of The Los Angeles Times; and Mickey Mouse, the corporate mascot of the Walt Disney Company.

The Post's editor said he disagreed with her "interpretation" of the action; that they'd published two articles recently that were of a negative bent regarding their corporate overlord(s), and they just didn't think they needed to publish yet another.

Anne is practically a legend in political cartooning. I love her work. I hope she lands somewhere else soon.

Ann Telnaes covers Time

I love Ann Telnaes cartoons.  She has some of the best visual depictions of political celebrities.  This one especially caught my eye, because I hadn't seen (or at least remembered seeing) her Kellyanne Conway.  This so perfectly captures what I see whenever I see Conway.  But it also reminds me of another celebrity from the past:
