Ding Dong

That's bullshit.  Him or the reporter?

Flashback one year ago...

Florence was a category 4.  If the report is correct, he's either not paying attention when the hurricane preparedness people are talking, or he's completely clueless. Well, both, I suppose.

It would be noteworthy if it were any other president.

...but hey, do what you want...you will anyway.

ALL his hurricanes are the biggest.

A lot of people don't know there's going to be a lot of water in South Carolina

That's what he said.

He also said "virtually everybody" said he's doing an "absolutely incredible" job.  And that South Carolina will have a "rough few days" that "will last a long time."

Everything's a fight or a battle to him

The ongoing fight against hurricane Florence????    The war against the hurricane!  We'll kick its ass!  We're Americans!

You don't fight a hurricane.  You prepare for its hit, you hunker down and protect what you can.  And then you work to rebuild.

Dear god, what a fucking idiot

From the pool report during Trump's visit to the hurricane disaster area (via Daniel Dale Twitter):

UPDATE:

A tough hurricane; one of the wettest (from the standpoint of water)

President Trump on Tuesday released a video touting his administration’s response to Hurricane Florence.

[...]

“I just want to thank all of the incredible men and women who have done such a great job in helping with Florence,” he said in the video. “This is a tough hurricane, one of the wettest we’ve ever seen, from the standpoint of water.”

[...]

The president is expected to visit North Carolina on Wednesday to view areas affected by Florence, which has been downgraded to a tropical depression since making landfall.

Oh boy. More self-congratulatory photos and tweets coming up.

Fake News

There's a picture of Anderson Cooper in deep water making the rounds on the right-wing sites accusing him of faking his hurricane reporting.  This is a great rebuttal.

I don't watch CNN, but I see reporting clips, and I'm a Cooper fan.  Of all the people in the world who could have had a silver-spoon life, Anderson Cooper, son of Gloria Vanderbilt, is one of the best.  Instead of taking advantage of his birth circumstances, he didn't get a huge inheritance, and he has worked his ass off helping people all over the world, risking his life in the bargain many times.  As Chris Cuomo says at the end of this video, Cooper has unimpeachable integrity.  I'm glad he published this.

So inappropriate

Ditch the exclamation marks.  They really aren't appropriate.  Particularly that first one.

Always inappropriate.  Stop whinging.

Maybe if he spent less time watching TV and more time playing golf, the whole world would be better off.  The American taxpayer would be poorer, but it would be worth the price.

"My (our)."

Please don't tear up the Outer Banks

Flashback to Hurricane Ike

Even before landfall.  I've been in that situation before.  It's not fun.
