He absolutely hates Jim Acosta

I guess he couldn't keep him out of India, like he can out of the White House.

Also, the voices in his head went with him on this trip to India.

I regret to inform you that, much as they worship him in India, he will not be staying.

Trump's favorite reporter has written a book

Trump’s battle with large parts of the American media could bubble back into view this week with the publication of a book by CNN’s White House correspondent Jim Acosta.

Acosta had his White House pass temporarily revoked last year after a clash with Trump at a press conference.

His book, The Enemy of the People: A Dangerous Time to Tell the Truth in America, will be published on Tuesday. In May, the Guardian obtained an early copy.

Acosta writes that when Trump began his attacks on “fake news” outlets including CNN, the Times, the Washington Post and more, it was an act conceived by adviser Steve Bannon in the absence of effective Democratic opposition. Acosta’s thesis is that this spiralled out of control, to potentially dangerous effect.

Doubling down on Jim Acosta

If you thought the Trump administration would seek to settle CNN and Jim Acosta's lawsuit out of court... think again.

After CNN won a temporary restraining order on Friday, forcing the White House to restore his press pass for 14 days, White House officials sent Acosta a letter stating that his pass is set to be suspended again once the restraining order expires.

From the looks of the letter, the W.H. is trying to establish a paper trail that will empower the administration to boot Acosta again at the end of the month.

Acosta's back

A federal judge has ruled in favor of CNN and temporarily restored White House press access for reporter Jim Acosta, in a blow to the Trump administration.

On Friday, US district judge Timothy Kelly ordered the White House to restore Acosta’s “hard pass” immediately. He warned that this was a temporary measure while the case continues, but said he found it likely that CNN would succeed in its claim that its Fifth Amendment rights to due process were violated.

Kelly also said White House press secretary Sarah Sanders’ initial statement on the reasons for revoking Acosta’s pass, were “likely untrue and at least partly based on evidence that was of questionable accuracy”

Guess what? Kelly was appointed to the bench by Trump. Will he be treated to the Jeff Sessions treatment?

Judge Kelly, a Trump appointee, did not address the first amendment’s protections for freedom of speech and the press on Friday, but instead focused on a due process provision of the US constitution that provides for fair treatment through a judicial or administrative process.

“Whatever process occurred within the government is still so shrouded in mystery that the government at oral argument could not tell me who made the initial decision to revoke Mr Acosta’s press pass,” Kelly said in his verbal ruling.

“We will also further develop rules and processes to ensure fair and orderly press conferences in the future,” Sanders said.

No you won't. Because then you couldn't favor Fox and the Christian News reporters.

“I want to emphasize the very limited nature of today’s ruling,” he said in the courtroom. “This doesn’t end the legal battle over Acosta’s access to the White House, it simply means that it is restored for now.”

Pretty sure the White House will quietly seek to settle.  Don't imagine CNN will play along.

Taking bets on how long before the White House reinstates Acosta's pass.  They already backed away from claiming Acosta acosted a staffer.

The lawsuit has already been filed.  And the evidence submitted.  The evidence that the White House - and specifically Sarah Sanders - claimed Acosta's press pass was revoked because he "put his hands on" a staffer.
