Not the first time he's done this

It's just a matter of time before he claims to have stopped nine wars.  Is it eight now?  I can't keep track.

He's tired of this thing that is only making him less popular.

"He" is fighting wars.  And other things.

It's why his ballroom is taking longer than he wants.

Well, it's been more than two days.  I guess he doesn't have time what with fighting wars and other things.  And the ballroom.

If he keeps this up, we're gonna BE nuclear dust.

What does that even mean: they're gonna give us the nuclear dust.

How's that Iran thing going?

Three weeks into the war, the Iranian regime is signaling that it believes it is winning and has the power to impose a settlement on Washington that entrenches Tehran’s dominance of Middle East energy resources for decades to come.

[...]

Netanyahu said Thursday that the war would end “a lot faster than people think.” Trump said this week the U.S. would wrap up the conflict in the “near future” even as the Pentagon dispatched thousands of additional Marines to the Middle East.

[...]

Iran has retained the ability to fire dozens of ballistic missiles, and many more drones, every day across the Middle East.

Instead of declining, the rate of fire actually picked up in recent days compared with 10 days ago. Iranian strikes inflicted catastrophic damage this week on key energy installations in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates—while Iran’s own oil exports kept booming.

Shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, the Persian Gulf’s chokepoint, remains only possible with Iranian permission.

[...]

“The Iranians aren’t ready to end the war because they have learned an important lesson: They can, comparatively easily and cheaply, cause a lot of damage and disruption. They now want the whole world to learn that lesson, too,” said Dina Esfandiary, an analyst on Iran and author of a book on Iran’s foreign relations.

[...]

Tehran has pledged that it will agree to a cease-fire only if Washington and the Gulf states pay a steep price.

[...]

Iran is planning to enshrine a “new status” for the Strait of Hormuz to require every passing ship to pay fees to Tehran for the privilege.

[...]

“This hubris is dangerous because they are not smart enough to understand that President Trump will never let them win. They don’t understand how far he’s willing to go,” said Jason Greenblatt, who served as the White House special envoy for the Middle East in the first Trump administration.

[...]

A U.S. effort to secure shipping lanes through the Strait of Hormuz would be “a simple military maneuver” with “so little risk,” Trump said Friday in a Truth Social post blasting European allies for refusing to join the mission.

  WSJ
Sure, Jan. Then why this...
The Trump administration is temporarily lifting longstanding sanctions banning the “sale, delivery, or offloading of crude oil or petroleum products of Iranian origin” for the next month in hopes of curbing the meteoric rise in oil prices.

  Independent UK
Thereby giving Iran (and Russia) a huge boost in dollars to spend on war.
A “General License” issued by the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control released late Friday permits the purchase of Iranian oil that has already been loaded onto “any vessel” — including ships that have already been sanctioned — by waiving 10 separate sets of sanctions that have targeted both Russian and Iranian oil.

The sanctions that are being temporarily set aside have been in place for years, with many originating during Trump’s first term.

[...]

By waiving the sanctions, the U.S. will allow Iranian and Russian oil that is currently at sea to be purchased and unloaded without penalty until April 19, at which point the sanctions will resume unless the Treasury extends the waiver.
Any bets?

UPDATE 03/21/2026:

One of the missiles failed in flight, and a U.S. warship fired an SM-3 interceptor at the other, according to two of the people. It couldn't be determined if an interception was made, according to one of the officials.

Iran’s targeting of Diego Garcia, about 2,500 miles from Iran, implies its missiles have a greater range than Tehran has previously acknowledged.Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said last month that Iran has deliberately limited the range of its missiles to around 1,250 miles.

  WSJ
Not any more.

UPDATE 03/22/2026:

Was this a mistake or intentional?

Keen to start a nuclear war in the Middle East

 UPDATE 02/24/2026:

I have yet to see what kind of "Deal" he wants to make, but I'm guessing it has to do with allowing him to build a Trump tower there, or something as personally enriching, but if they want to pretend it has to do with nuclear armaments, Barack Obama already had a deal in place, and Trump tore it up.

Pathetic and embarrassing

Of course he kept them waiting.

He has to create bullshit clubs to be the leader of.

Apparently he thinks that creating something he calls the Board of Peace should give him the Peace Prize.

I didn't get a Peace Prize either.  Did I get screwed by Norway, too?

Awful in so many ways.

Sure, Jan.

World Liberty is Trump's crypto scam company.

After he said we have peace in the Middle East...

Board of Peace, eh?  Let's start a war in the Middle East by attacking the largest country there with nuclear weapons.  Great idea, Peacemaster.

We have gone full 1984 here with the Donald J Trump Institute of Peace in DC.

Sure, Jan.

UPDATE 02/19/2026:

Will there be any money left in the treasury when Trump leaves?

About that whistleblower complaint against Tulsi Gabbard

The whistle-blower report was based on a telephone intercept provided to the N.S.A. from a foreign intelligence service.

[...]

Because the intelligence report mentioned Mr. Kushner, Ms. Gabbard provided the information to Susie Wiles, the White House chief of staff, according to people briefed on the events.

[...]

The whistle-blower report was drafted last May, while the Trump administration was deliberating about a strike on Iran. At the end of June, the military bombed Iranian nuclear sites on Mr. Trump’s orders.

Mr. Kushner has subsequently helped lead negotiations between the administration and Iran over Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs and its sponsorship of terrorism across the Middle East. He also has business interests in the Middle East and in other parts of the world.

The episode has led to clashes over how to interpret the mention of Mr. Kushner in the discussion and whether Ms. Gabbard was improperly seeking to keep the intelligence from being distributed within the intelligence community.

[...]

The names of Americans, particularly senior U.S. officials, are usually redacted from accounts of intelligence intercepts, a process called masking.

The foreign nationals were discussing Mr. Kushner, but some officials who have read the underlying intelligence or been briefed on its contents downplayed the significance of the references to him.

  NYT
They would, wouldn't they?
The foreign nationals, they said, were commenting on Mr. Kushner’s influence with the Trump administration.
I have no doubt they were.
The intercept also included what officials described as “gossip” or speculation about Mr. Kushner that was not supported by other intelligence. Some senior officials said the information was demonstrably false. While the whistle-blower believed that information should be circulated, the N.S.A.’s general counsel, Ms. Gabbard and the intelligence community’s inspectors general disagreed.

Officials declined to describe the gossip, saying that revealing it would expose the source of the information.

The complaint, the investigation of the complaint and the underlying intelligence all remain classified.

[...]

Some officials who either read or were briefed on the intelligence report said that had Ms. Gabbard not moved to restrict access to the report, it would have been quickly forgotten as one of many that recount foreign officials trying to figure out who has influence with Mr. Trump.
Probably true, but that could depend on what was reported.
A heavily redacted copy of the inspector general’s report was provided to Congress. Ms. Gabbard’s office redacted Mr. Kushner’s name, citing executive privilege.

[...]

Ms. Gabbard had previously pulled back and then restricted access to another N.S.A. intercept. That intelligence report involved an intercept of a call between Nicolás Maduro, then the Venezuelan president, and Richard Grenell, Mr. Trump’s envoy. Names of U.S. officials recorded in intelligence intercepts are supposed to be masked, and Ms. Gabbard argued the N.S.A. had failed to properly conceal Mr. Grenell’s identity. Mr. Grenell was negotiating with Mr. Maduro on Mr. Trump’s orders.
"I'd like you to claim Venezuela interfered with the 2020 election and is planning to interfere in 2026 and 2028."

How long before the whistleblower is investigated by Bondi?  Probably happening now.

Somebody's not feeling the love

I don't know what six wars he's imagining he ended, but, give that man his Nobel Prize!

At least he corrected Leningrad to St. Petersburg in this one.  I don't know why the Russians would be giving any city to the U.S., but perhaps we now expect a percentage of the concessions in peace negotiations.

So we're back to the obliterated Iranian nukes fantasy.

What "beautification"?

Loony Toons.

Let's get Grandpa to bed.

Thank you for your attention to this matter!

UPDATE 07:21 am:

Loony Toons.

So, now it's seven.  I guess he's counting Russia's invasion of Ukraine (for which he blames Joe Biden and Zelensky).

It doesn't just sound crazy.  It IS crazy.

Dumbest president ever

Something the voices in his head told him.

Iran was very respectful when they told him they had to "take a shot at us," and he said okay. Because they respect us now.

Day four - US attack on Iran

Praise Dear Leader!

Not so fast, little lady.

Donald Trump's joy and expectation of a Nobel Prize evaporated within hours of his announcement that Israel and Iran had agreed to a ceasefire.  I know, you're surprised.  Bibi can't have peace.  He's trying to stay out of jail. If he has to destroy the planet to do it.

A tentative truce faltered Tuesday when Israel accused Iran of launching missiles into its airspace after the ceasefire was supposed to take effect and vowed to retaliate.

Iran’s military denied firing on Israel, state media reported — but explosions boomed and sirens sounded across northern Israel midmorning, and an Israeli military official said two Iranian missiles were intercepted.

U.S. President Donald Trump told reporters at the White House before departing for the NATO summit at The Hague that in his view, both sides had violated the nascent agreement he had announced earlier.

“They violated it but Israel violated it too,” Trump said. ”I’m not happy with Israel.”

  Chicago Tribune

Apparently, Trump gives orders to Israel via social media.

LOL.

And then...

"We" made the deal?

By "unload" he means bombed Iran.  "Right after" the deal was made.  He's stupid, and Israel poked him in the eye.

100%.
"When I say 12 hours [of ceasefire], you don't go out in the first hour and drop everything you have on them," Trump said.

  Axios
Not everything.  They didn't drop everything they have.

And, frankly, at least from his bleat, that 12 hour business was confusing.

1) If it's a ceasefire for ONLY 12 hours, how will the war be considered "ENDED"?
2) Iran will start the ceasefire, and, "upon the 12th hour," Israel will start the ceasefire. Israel gets 12 hours free fire before they have to start the ceasefire? "During each ceasefire, the other side will remain PEACEFUL and RESPECTFUL."  So, no free fire.  Two individual ceasefires, but the other side has to cease fire, too, so...  What the fuck?

At least he has a name for the war.
A White House source said Trump spoke to Netanyahu in "an exceptionally firm and direct way" about his objections to the Israeli strike.

"The president told Netanyahu what needed to happen to sustain the ceasefire. The prime minister understood the severity of the situation and the concerns President Trump expressed," the source said.

[...]

A senior Israeli official said Netanyahu told Trump that he could not cancel the strike completely and that some response was needed to Iran's ceasefire violation.

"In the end, it was decided to significantly scale back the strike, cancel the attack on a large number of targets and strike only one radar system outside of Tehran," the Israeli official said.

  Axios
So, at least Trump can say it would have been worse without his input. I wonder why he didn't. Perhps because he jumped the gun and shot from the hip. He'll get there eventually.

100%.
The prime minister's office said in a statement that during the call Trump "expressed his deep appreciation for Israel — which achieved all of the war's objectives. He also expressed his confidence in the stability of the ceasefire."
Misplaced confidence, I guess you could say.
fter the call with Netanyahu, Trump posted again to Truth Social to say he had convinced Israel to abort its mission.
That was the "friendly 'Plane Wave'" post. But, he was wrong. And now he's mad.

It doesn't appear Trump's entrance into the fray is actually pushing things the right way.

Is one of them Don Jr?

Wait. What?

YWA will be here for it.  In the meantime, further insanity today on the "12 Day War" will be updated below.

UPDATE 02:20 pm:

Possible.  But I would say it's more likely that he's just being himself trying to claim total success in everything he ever does.

Is that even what happened?  Bombs dropped perfectly on their targets?

The assessment [...] was produced by the Defense Intelligence Agency, the Pentagon’s intelligence arm. It is based on a battle damage assessment conducted by US Central Command in the aftermath of the US strikes.

[...]

The analysis of the damage to the sites and the impact of the strikes on Iran’s nuclear ambitions is ongoing, and could change as more intelligence becomes available.

[...]

One of the people said the centrifuges are largely “intact.”

“So the (DIA) assessment is that the US set them back maybe a few months, tops.”

[...]

[DOD Secretary Pete Hegseth] told CNN, “Based on everything we have seen — and I’ve seen it all — our bombing campaign obliterated Iran’s ability to create nuclear weapons. Our massive bombs hit exactly the right spot at each target and worked perfectly. The impact of those bombs is buried under a mountain of rubble in Iran; so anyone who says the bombs were not devastating is just trying to undermine the President and the successful mission.“

[...]

[But according to the assessment,] the impact to all three sites — Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan — was largely restricted to aboveground structures.

  CNN
So much for bunker busting.

Also...
Iran has several other sites in its nuclear program.

  PBS
While Trump and Hegseth have been bullish about the success of the strikes, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine said Sunday that while the damage assessment was still ongoing it would be “way too early” to comment on whether Iran still retains some nuclear capabilities.

Earlier on Tuesday, classified briefings for both the House and Senate on the operation were canceled.

The all-Senate briefing has been moved to Thursday, according to two sources familiar with the matter.

Two separate sources familiar told CNN the briefing for all House lawmakers has also been postponed. It was not immediately clear why it was delayed or when it would be rescheduled.

  CNN
They need a little time to gather up some "evidence". And for Pete Hegseth to memorize what he's supposed to say.  They know if they hold it now, they'll even get some Republican resistance.
[T]here have long been questions about whether the US’ bunker-buster bombs, known as Massive Ordnance Penetrators, would be able to fully destroy Iran’s highly fortified nuclear sites that are buried deep underground — particularly at Fordow and Isfahan, Iran’s largest nuclear research complex.
Well, now they know.
Notably, the US struck Isfahan with Tomahawk missiles launched from a submarine instead of a bunker-buster bomb. That is because there was an understanding that the bomb would likely not successfully penetrate Isfahan’s lower levels, which are buried even deeper than Fordow, one of the sources said.
Oh.
US officials believe Iran also maintains secret nuclear facilities that were not targeted in the strike and remain operational, according to two sources familiar with the matter.
Oh.

There's going to be some intense scrutiny of the people who had access to that report.  Kristi Noem, Pete Hegseth, and Tulsi Gabbard may all be on the hot seat for not preventing the leak.

UPDATE 06/25/2025:  The shake-up has begun.

These are the guys who are supposed to be better than Kristi Noem.
