Bored Republicans should be removed from office

Republicans are bored — and they hope the American public shares their tedium.

The first week of President Trump’s impeachment trial has been met with regular assertions from GOP senators — as well as outside allies — that there is nothing to see here.

Sean Hannity told his Fox News viewers that he was “not going to torture you” by broadcasting large swathes of the trial. On the same network, “Fox & Friends” anchor Steve Doocey complained that the proceedings were “unbelievably boring.”

On Thursday, Laura Ingraham retweeted a post showing strong ratings for Fox News shows the previous evening and added, “I thought impeachment was supposed to be the left’s big ratings breakthrough?”

Twitter is reversing a decision to block Rep. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee from promoting her Senate campaign launch video on the social network.

A Twitter spokesperson said Tuesday: “Our ads policies strive to balance protecting our users from potentially distressing content while allowing our advertisers to communicate their messages.

Is Twitter their users' parent?

“While we initially determined that a small portion of the video used potentially inflammatory language, after reconsidering the ad in the context of the entire message, we believe that there is room to refine our policies around these issues.”

I would suggest refining it down to something that doesn't conflict with the Constitutional rights of free speech.

Twitter Going Too Far

Republican Rep. Marsha Blackburn’s Senate campaign announcement ad has been blocked by Twitter over a statement the abortion rights opponent makes about the sale of fetal tissue for medical research.

Blackburn, who is running for the seat being opened by the retirement of Tennessee Sen. Bob Corker, boasts in the ad that she “stopped the sale of baby body parts.” A Twitter representative told the candidate’s vendors on Monday that the statement was “deemed an inflammatory statement that is likely to evoke a strong negative reaction.

Since when did Twitter become the official censor of the United States of America?  Causing "a strong negative reaction" is deemed tantamount to incitement to riot?  It's Twitter.  People can't hurt each other there.  And, "likely to evoke".  Likely.  What is this?  Pre-crime?  Thought police?

Blackburn took to Twitter to urge supporters to re-post her video and join her in “standing up to Silicon Valley.”

I should hope so. Jesus. Don't give these Republicans the constitutional high road.

Blackburn’s nearly two-and-a-half minute video features footage of her shooting a gun, espousing her “100 percent pro-life” credentials and taking fellow Republicans in the Senate to task for failing to repeal the Obama health care law.

Any of which is likely to evoke a strong negative reaction. For the love of Pete, people.
