Eye roll

Maybe knowing this was coming out is the real reason Trump dumped Noem.

That picture of him in the fake bust reminds me of an old cartoon I once saw captioned: Please adjust your set.

UPDATE 06:03 pm:

Thar she blows!

 Noem is out.

Foghorn Leghorn for the kill.

Snuck up on her.

He said he didn't have any problem with her giving huge no-bid contracts to the husband of her assistant secretary.  She said Trump knew all about it.  [“He said, ‘I want the first ad, I want you to thank me. I want you to thank me for closing the border.’ I said, ‘Yes, sir. I will thank you for closing the border,’” she said at the time.] Trump called Kennedy after the hearing to say he didn't sign off on the Kristi Noem fancy pants in a cowboy hat ad campaign.  They're both liars, so who knows how it went down?  But you know he had no qualms throwing her under the bus.

Glad to be rid of ICE Barbie.  And her ads and photo cosplaying photo ops.

Does this mean Corey Lewandowski is also out of a job?*

Also...remember the pilot that got fired because of leaving Noem's blanket behind (and WTF?).  It wasn't her blanket.

Apparently it was a bag.

Remember when she claimed a bag with $3,000 was stolen from her in a restaurant?

Sketchy.

Good riddance.  I wouldn't expect DHS to be any better, though.  Markwayne Mullin is taking her place.  Somebody said moving Mullin to DHS would make DHS and the Senate both smarter.  Not sure about DHS, but perhaps won't make them any dumber.

Still, it's a good start.  Now do RFK Jr, Pam Bondi and Kash Patel.  Then we can work on a longer list.

UPDATE 04:52 pm:

There will be plenty other cowards and suckups, John.  Thanks for rushing out to be the first.

UPDATE 05:49 pm:  Next! For god's sake, NEXT!

UPDATE 05:54 pm:

In true Trump style, he fired her via tweet...while she was on stage giving a speech.

What's her budget?

Doral 2026?  What's his golf course got to do with anything shielding the Americas.  And WTF is a shield of the Americas anyway?

This asshole is simply into pomp and prizes.  The reason you know that's all this is is because you don't know what the Shield of the Americas is.  He just made it up on the spur of the moment, perhaps to give ICE Barbie something to put on her resumé.

*UPDATE 03/29/2026:  There goes Corey.
Corey Lewandowski was ousted from the Trump administration after he was spotted on a tropical getaway with his alleged lover, fired Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

So it's true, then.

As rumors fly about an affair between Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and adviser Corey Lewandowski, a new report alleges the pair have been traveling together in a luxury jet fitted with a private cabin, ostensibly meant for “high-profile deportations.”

Reports of the pair’s romantic relationship initially took off in the tabloids. Then in a New York magazine exposé published in September, one FEMA official called it the “worst-kept secret in D.C.”

[...]

Noem, 54, and Lewandowski, 52, are both married with children.

The two have denied the rumors, which have hounded them for years.

[...]

Recently, the two have been traveling across the country in a luxury 737 MAX jet, with a private cabin in back, people familiar with the matter told the Journal. Official documents reviewed by the newspaper show that the luxury plane, which staff jokingly call Noem’s “big, beautiful jet,” is earmarked for “high-profile deportations.”

[...]

Noem has had a turbulent history with planes during Trump’s second term.

Last year, she reportedly authorized the purchase of 10 Spirit Airline planes before realizing that the airline didn’t actually own the planes, and they also had no engines. In October, despite the then-ongoing government shutdown, the Trump administration bought two Gulfstream G700 jets for $172 million to be used by Noem and other leaders.

[...]

According to the Rupert Murdoch-owned Wall Street Journal’s report on what it called “constant chaos” within Noem’s department, President Donald Trump and his top advisers have long been uncomfortable with the pair’s relationship. Although Lewandowski wanted to serve as Noem’s chief of staff, Trump said no because of the affair rumors, according to the Journal. Officials told the newspaper that Trump continues to bring up the alleged affair.

Maybe now is a good time for him to fire Noem for her handling of DHS.

Definitely time to impeach Noem (and Trump).

Also, they had to rehire that pilot immediately, because he was the only person available qualified to fly the plane back home.

Christ.

Always in Trumpland they eventually start eating each other

Talk of impeaching Kristi Noem

I don't know how this works.  I thought the majority party in the House had the power to impeach.

TACO Tuesday

Attorney General Pam Bondi’s letter demanding three policy changes from the state led a federal judge to ask whether the federal government was engaging in a “quid pro quo,” potentially implicating the anti-commandeering doctrine.

U.S. District Judge Katherine Menendez, a Joe Biden appointee, seems reluctant to take that opening because the Eighth Circuit paused a much more modest order to prevent civil rights abuses against peaceful protesters. A three-judge panel found today the government was “likely to succeed on the merits” of its appeal.

Even if Judge Menendez doesn’t end the surge, Trump’s Department of Homeland Security appears to be winding things down on their own amid friendly fire from conservative allies.

[...]

Gov. Tim Walz reported a “productive” phone call with Donald Trump, who reportedly agreed to look into reducing the number of federal agents in Minnesota and ensuring the state’s Bureau of Criminal Apprehension can conduct independent investigations into the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti.

[...]

[M]ultiple news outlets reported that soon-to-be-former Border Patrol Commander Greg Bovino would be leaving the state with many of the agents under his command. Bovino reportedly will return to his previous job as a sector chief for El Centro, Calif., after being the face of two unpopular operations in Chicago and the Twin Cities. During his brief tenure, one federal judge in Chicago declared in open court and in a written opinion that Bovino “lied” in a sworn deposition.

In his absence, so-called Border Patrol czar Tom Homan traveled to Minnesota to give Operation Metro Surge a more professional gloss.

  Adam Klasfeld
Yeah. Professional. The guy who took a $50,000 bribe in a Cava bag and is still in his job.

In further good news, though...
Having been forced out of the Eastern District of Virginia, ex-Trump lawyer turned fake U.S. Attorney Lindsey Halligan is leaving the Justice Department altogether.

[...]

The Third Circuit Court of Appeals rejected the Justice Department’s application to review the disqualification of Trump’s ex-lawyer turned U.S. Attorney Alina Habba before the full bench.
All his pretty, young, incompetents are biting the dust. Eyes on Kristi Noem.
Trump’s Justice Department also withdrew a pending application for the chief judge of the District of Minnesota to pursue arrest warrants for five more people tied to the recent St. Paul church protest, including independent journalist Don Lemon.

[...]

In the face of enormous protests, internal mutiny, and mounting legal defeats, Trump appears to be cutting his losses under pressure.
When asked if Noem will step down, President Donald Trump told reporters on the White House South Lawn Tuesday, "No."

And we've gutted the education department

 Facepalm emoji.

I'll be surprised if she gets dumped.  (She may get impeached.) Trump likes "sicko fans" like her (Pam Bondi and Karoline Leavitt), because they're dedicated to whoring for him.

Trump losing in court

And...

Secretary of State Marco Rubio personally approved the deportation of five student activists last year after receiving memos largely describing their participation in pro-Palestinian protests and their writings about the war in Gaza, according to internal government documents unsealed by a federal judge on Thursday.

The documents reveal new details about how the Trump administration decided to target the activists, who were all foreign students visible in campus protests. They had been in the United States legally but were arrested and threatened with deportation last spring.

[...]

Judge William G. Young, an appointee of President Ronald Reagan, ruled last year that the Trump administration had illegally targeted the students for deportation based on their speech — in particular their opposition to the Israeli government and its military operations in Gaza.

[...]

[The documents] also show that officials privately anticipated the possibility that the deportations might not hold up in court because much of the conduct highlighted could be seen as protected speech.

[...]

In one set of documents with the referrals, officials acknowledged that almost no grounds existed for deporting the students other than a rarely used 1952 law that says the secretary of state may deem noncitizens deportable for reasons related to foreign policy.

[...]

In justifying the attempt to deport the students, Mr. Rubio and other administration officials repeatedly asserted that they had supported terrorist organizations.

[...]

The students have denied that charge. They sued over their arrests, and judges last year ordered each of them released, citing concerns that their arrests had been based on protected speech.

The case before Judge Young, brought by two national academic organizations, argued more broadly that the arrests had chilled academic speech on the nation’s college campuses. Judge Young agreed, describing the behavior of Mr. Rubio and Kristi Noem, the homeland security secretary, as an “unconstitutional conspiracy” to “pick off” a few students with an eye to “violating” the free speech rights of thousands of noncitizen scholars.

Abolish Kristi Noem

The day after a federal agent shot Minneapolis mother-of-three Renee Nicole Good to death, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem quietly reinstated a policy that a federal judge blocked last month.

Congress members vowed to fight back.

On Dec. 17, U.S. District Judge Jia Cobb found in favor of a dozen House Democrats who sued Noem and the agency she leads over a policy requiring seven days of advanced notice before visiting any immigration detention facility.

Noem signed a memo reinstating a virtually identical policy on Thursday, claiming to assert a different legal rationale.

[...]

Last month, Judge Cobb found that Noem’s advance notice requirement violated the explicit terms of an appropriations bill, Section 527, forbidding the agency from doing anything “to prevent” a “Member of Congress” or that Member’s designated staff “from entering, for the purpose of conducting oversight, any facility operated by or for the Department of Homeland Security used to detain or otherwise house aliens.”

Noem planned to end-run that ruling by claiming that she would use only the funds allocated from Donald Trump’s mammoth spending bill, taunting lawmakers who visited ICE facilities in the wake of Good’s death.

ICE murder in Minneapolis

Abolish Kristi Noem while you're at it.

And this has gotten more than one person killed.

They hire violent people and give them masks and guns.  It's intentional.

UPDATE 01/08/2026:

Feds investigating Feds.  What do you suppose the outcome will be?

Could Minnesota not sue for any evidence.  Could they not use eyewitness and citizen video evidence?   And, this...

Foreign invasion?

Come out to protest and die.

UPDATE 01/08/2026 04:39 pm:

"They are unhappy with the FBI."

Go for it.

In case you missed it...

That is as intended.  ICE is not meant to be a law enforcement agency.  It's meant to terrorize the public into unquestioning obedience to the authoritarian regime.

Indeed, it's a reason to put them on leave.

BTW, is that cigar big enough?

ICE is populated with Nazi goons.

UPDATE 01/09/2026:

How do you know he wasn't trying to record himself shooting her?

Unless the rules have changed, those are not deadly force situations.  Nor domestic terrorist incidents.
