It wouldn't surprise me if Trump holds onto her simply because this was reported in the NYT.

And maybe, he's getting rid of all the women.

This one, I think, is quite likely.

I couldn't think why Bondi, though, because she sucks up to him constantly and is a hateful human being.

This is how the Times reports it:

President Trump has discussed firing Attorney General Pam Bondi in recent days as he grows frustrated with her leadership at the Justice Department and her handling of the Epstein files, according to four people familiar with the conversations.

Mr. Trump has floated the idea of replacing Ms. Bondi with Lee Zeldin, the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, the people said.

He has also complained about her shortcomings as a communicator and vented about what he sees as the department’s lack of aggressiveness in going after his foes.

Pam is scheduled for House Oversight subpoenaed testimony April 14. We'll see if it happens, and if it does, whether she does anything other than she's done before: snipe and snarl.

Well, Bondi won't be having to testify again.  Update: Rep. Robert Garcia says, no, she will absolutely still have to testify.

[Trump's Deputy Attorney General Todd] Blanche has become the target of a right-wing media campaign pushing for his ouster. His accusers blame him for, among other things, holding up a [Ghislaine] Maxwell-like arrangement for Tina Peters, a conspiracy theorist and former county clerk in Colorado sentenced last fall to nine years in prison for letting another conspiracy theorist copy hard drives of voter data and post the stolen materials to his website.

It all could have worked out, allegedly, had Blanche not intervened!

On Tuesday, Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) offered a motion in the House Oversight and Government Reform committee to subpoena Maxwell. It passed on a voice vote. Members of Congress will apparently be able to ask questions about Epstein’s associate, her contact with the Trump Justice Department, and the existence of documents.

She's in prison for 20 years for sex trafficking minors. I don't think she'd draw the line at lying.

“Republicans on the House Rules Committee continue to oppose allowing any legislation to reach the House floor for a vote this week,” the Washington Post reported. “That’s because they fear Democrats will introduce amendments related to Epstein. Democrats on the panel did so twice last week, and Republicans faced blowback from constituents and the MAGA base for voting against releasing the files.” The GOP chair of the committee said it might not meet again until September, and the House is set to scurry out of town for recess on Wednesday.

House members on both sides of the aisle are irate with Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), who refused to move forward with a vote to compel release of the documents. Rep. Or is he gonna pick the American people and justice for the victims? … It’s irrespective of what the president wants.”

That comes close to the nub of the issue: Will Republicans go along with a massive coverup, the sort of corrupt self-protection racket that authoritarian leaders pull to defend indefensible conduct?

Trump has lost his gag order appeal.

Michael Cohen got back on the stand to continue direct by prosecution.

Except it wasn't okay for Cohen.  He went to prison.

Worry.

There are a number of posts essentially detailing the same thing: Trump's lawyer quoting disparaging remarks Cohen made about Trump.  I don't see how that's going to be a winner for the jury.  After a couple, they get the idea, no need to feed them insults they might find amusing.  (Like Captain von Shitzinpantz.)  Maybe he should have left the jury with the times he quoted Cohen praising Trump.

Well, it's meant to, but it very obviously doesn't.

I read speculation they'd probably call an expert on New York law to explain how Trump's hush money payments could become a criminal charge, but perhaps the prosecutors don't think that will be hard to get across.  Especially since there are two lawyers on the jury.

Set the tone - low.  Gonna guess that was not a jury pleaser, either.
