DNI Counterterrorism Director resigns!

That's pretty amazing.  But I'm not at all convinced Trump will even read it.

Typical Trump response:

UPDATE 03/19/2026:  I didn't realize Joe is so young.  Maybe there's hope for his future, but I'm a little discomfitted by the fact someone of this age was put in charge of counterterrorism.

This should come as no surprise to anyone who has been watching Trump 2.0.  I hope he had prepared himself for it.

Also, I read that the woman on the banner was an anti-suffragist.

You simply cannot speak ill of Saint Charlie

Also, may Marco Rubio be haunted by the ghosts of his immigrant ancestors.

UPDATE 02/24/2026:

But wait.  There's more.

Hmmmm

MAGA's hero

AOC was taking righteous heat from the trans community yesterday for taking up for Sarah McBride, the only trans representative in Congress who voted YES to a resolution honoring notorious anti-trans, anti-LGBTQ Charlie Kirk.

Many noted, in the aftermath of McBride’s vote, that Kirk had personally attacked her—calling her a “man” and claiming she wanted “to force all of society to change its laws to indulge [her] sexual fetish,” hardly the “respectful and civil discourse” the resolution insisted he embodied.

Here's a list of the Democrats who voted no or present or did not vote:

Kirk will be honored with a public funeral service on Sunday, September 21, at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, with thousands expected to attend, including high-profile political figures such as President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Kirk's widow, Erika Kirk, will speak at the event, alongside members of Trump's cabinet and conservative media personalities. The service is being organized by Turning Point USA, which Kirk led until his death.

She says of the 58 Democratic no votes, only 2 were Caucasian.

It's Sunday

Any story about him that does not contain the phrase "...who once supervised a program to use the money collected from parishioners to pay accused child molesters to leave the priesthood..." is unworthy of being read.

Still trying to blame the left and/or the LGBTQ community

Authorities are investigating whether Tyler Robinson, suspected of killing Charlie Kirk, believed Kirk's views on gender identity were "hateful" to people like Robinson's transgender roommate, six sources familiar with the case tell Axios.

[...]

Each of the six sources familiar with the investigation told Axios that investigators believe Robinson had a romantic relationship with his roommate.

[...]

Axios' sources said investigators initially wanted the information about the roommate's gender identity kept quiet because that person is being "extremely cooperative" with authorities.

The roommate was "aghast" at the slaying when speaking to investigators and shared electronic messages sent by Robinson.

  Axios
Sounds like the "sources" are part of the Patel super-Trumpy employees.
The phone messages indicated a sender listed as "Tyler" had mentioned that after the shooting, he had wrapped his rifle in a towel and stashed it in some bushes near Utah Valley University, where the shooting occurred, Gov. Spencer Cox said Friday during a news conference.

"Tyler" also told the roommate in writing that the rifle would have to be retrieved.
Oh boy. That's a lot of gender identity info.
Federal and state law enforcement officials also are examining leftist groups in Utah to see whether they had knowledge of the alleged shooter's plans beforehand, or if they lent material support to him afterward.

One of those groups eliminated its social media profile after the shooting.
Are they investigating a Groyper connection?
The motive and political ideology of Robinson, 22, are subjects of intense online debate. Some conservatives have insisted he's an unhinged leftist. Liberals have pushed back by pointing to Robinson's conservative upbringing in Utah.

In a Daily Mail interview Friday, family matriarch Debbie Robinson said the family supports President Trump's MAGA movement.

"Most of my family members are Republican, she said. "I don't know any single one who's a Democrat."
And she knows her son.

Meanwhile...

Not just blaming - inciting action against...

And still trying to canonize racist hatemonger Charlie Kirk.

UPDATE 09:51 am:

Pretty bold for a Republican.

Charlie Kirk murder

This post is an explanation for what was actually the assassin's motive, which I expect will eventually be shown, unless he gets a lawyer who tells him to deny and denounce.  But, we'll go in chronological order...

Suspect in custody.

If this is correct, it looks like the pastor turned him in.
I was struck yesterday by the sight of Republican policymakers holding Kirk up as a champion of free speech while at the same time using his death to call for state crackdowns on the speech of others. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau called for Americans to report “foreigners” who were “praising, rationalizing, or making light of” Kirk’s assassination to the State Department, presumably for visa cancellation and deportation. Not to be outdone, Rep. Clay Higgins (R-La.) declared political war on the “evil, sick animals” who “belittled” Kirk’s assassination: “I’m . . . going after their business licenses and permitting, their businesses will be blacklisted aggressively, they should be kicked from every school, and their drivers licenses should be revoked.” Any bill to this effect would obviously be unconstitutional, but we’ll wait and see whether Higgins actually tries to write one, or whether threatening to do so is just a particularly unfortunate way for certain people to grieve.

  The Bulwark
I don't think that's grieving. That's making political hay.

The suspect who allegedly killed conservative activist Charlie Kirk targeted him for "spreading hate," police said while announcing the arrest Friday.

  Axios
Well, that's rich.
Authorities named Tyler Robinson as the alleged shooter. Investigators believe he acted alone and did not have information that would lead to additional arrests as of Friday morning.
So, what were those previous arrests that were subsequently turned loose about?
"I hope he gets the death penalty," Trump said earlier Friday when he shared that the suspect was in custody.

[...]

Trump's decision to share the development preempted law enforcement's timeline for publicizing the news, a senior administration official told Axios.

"We've been at this since 1 a.m.," a senior administration official said. "We have someone in custody. We're 95% sure this is the killer."

"This is the president's administration, so he has the right to say what he wants when he wants about it. And this is so personal to him. But yeah, we would've preferred a little more time before announcing. But it doesn't matter anyway. We're sure this is the guy."

[...]

While administration officials won't second-guess Trump's early announcement, the same can't be said about FBI director Kash Patel. On Thursday, he announced that a different potential suspect was in custody, only to then backtrack and admit the person had to be released.

"It might make the prosecution more difficult of the guy we have now," the official said.

It seems the governor could use a little moral clarity himself...

This guy picked the wrong day if he wanted to get publicity.

Just another day in American gun fetishism.

UPDATE 03:22 pm:

Of course, the WSJ wasn't the only source of that information.

Left:

Right:

And, here's they key to the murder: Groypers think Charlie Kirk was not right wing enough.

UPDATE 09/13/2025:

UPDATE 09/13/2025:  Unlike many families of black victims of police brutality, there's no forgiving here. Kirk's wife is calling forth legions of would-be vengeance seekers.

(TPUSA is Charlie Kirk's organization.)

Wall Street Journal after the fact.  Why you never go with the first reports.
