In a stunning announcement posted to Twitter/X on Friday night, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) said that she will resign her seat in the House on January 5, 2026. The announcement comes after Greene publicly skirmished with Donald Trump over the release of the Epstein files. Trump has responded by calling her a “traitor,” a “lunatic,” and “wacky,” saying he’ll refuse to take her phone calls, and that he’ll consider supporting a primary challenger against her.

“There is no ‘plan to save the world’ or insane 4D chess game being played,” Greene wrote in her announcement, referring to QAnon believers’ claims that Trump is enacting a complex, hidden plan to bring a powerful pedophilic cabal to justice.

Before her first candidacy, Greene spent a lot of time on Facebook posting hateful, racist, Islamophobic, antisemitic, and otherwise toxic viewpoints, which included suggesting the Parkland and Sandy Hook shootings were hoaxes, and appeared to support committing political violence. Things did not improve after she began serving as an elected official: she promoted stolen election conspiracy theories and appeared as a surprise speaker at a 2022 conference organized by white nationalist and antisemite Nick Fuentes, then pretended she had simply no idea how she’d found her way there or about Fuentes’ background and beliefs.

Since Trump was reelected and took office for the second time, Greene has tempered her Trump sycophancy and even offered public criticisms of him. She’s also espoused what are seen as more progressive views, including calling the war in Gaza a “genocide” this summer. Greene has also been vocal in her calls to release files related to Jeffrey Epstein in full; days ago, she appeared at a press conference with several Epstein survivors and called Trump’s handling of the scandal “destructive” to MAGA.

In her retirement announcement, Greene was clear that her plans to retire are directly linked to Trump’s attacks, writing, “I have too much self-respect and dignity, love my family way too much, and do not want my sweet district to have to endure a hurtful and hateful primary against me by the President we all fought for, only to fight and win my election while Republicans will likely lose the midterms.”

She's talking about the discharge petition to vote on releasing the Epstein files.  They'll have the needed 218 as soon as the newly elected Arizona representative, Democrat Adelita Grijalva is sworn in, something Mike Johnson is so far refusing to do.  He closed down the House to keep from doing it and now is telling them they can work in their districts rather than back in DC this week.  We'll see how he avoids it next week.

She complains that her adult children are facing doubled premiums.  Did she not vote for the Big Beautiful Bunk? I guess when it hits home, suddenly it matters.

But wait.

Laura Loomer is rocking the boat, too.

Trump may wish he'd kept these two ladies (and I use that term lightly) happy.

1) Senators Johnson and Paul are not staffers in the CBO.  Johnson is on both the budget and finance (specifically fiscal responsibility and economic growth) committees, so presumably he understands deficits.

2) Staffer financial contributions are not a measure of budget assessment accuracy.

3) If staffers in the CBO are not contributing to Republicans, that should tell you something about Republican economic policies.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has vowed that the U.S. will “force” other countries to adopt President Donald Trump’s new title for the Gulf of Mexico after the United Kingdom indicated it was not on board with the name change.

The MAGA congresswoman fired back Thursday at a report in the Telegraph that the U.K. will not call the body of water the “Gulf of America” on British maps after Trump signed an executive order to rename it in the U.S.

“We have to force this to happen and we should! We rename post offices all the time this isn’t complicated,” Greene wrote on X.

Trump 2.0 - Oligarchs

Infighting and jostling for top position may wreck the Techbro oligarchy. (If we're lucky.)

Trump announced (and tried to take credit for) Open AI’s partnership with SoftBank, Oracle, and MGX to invest $500 billion in a massive AI infrastructure project called Stargate. One of their main competitors happens to be Elon Musk. He responded with several posts trashing the idea and Open AI’s Sam Altman. Musk: “They don’t actually have the money. SoftBank has well under $10 billion secured. I have that on good authority.”

Altman responded: “Wrong, as you surely know. Want to come visit the first site already underway? This is great for the country. I realize what is great for the country isn’t always what’s optimal for your companies, but in your new role I hope you’ll put the country first.”

So Musk ends up trashing Trump’s hype show by claiming the whole thing is a scam and they don’t really have the money to do what they are saying, proving that Musk will always side with his own companies over Trump. It will be interesting to see how this bromance between Musk and Trump plays out if that continues.

Aside from ousting the co-chair of DOGE, Vivek Ramaswamy, there are other indicators that this pseudo-agency is going to be chaotic.

Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) posted this on X about House DOGE committee Chair Marge Greene: “MTG specifically told (my friend) James Comer that she won’t allow any Republican women on her subcommittee.” I asked him if this was true or if he was just being snarky. He said it was 100% true. Doesn’t surprise me at all - Marge does not get along with other women at all. She doesn’t even look at her old friend Boebert anymore.

But Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA) is on the committee and he says he’s ready for battle: “I’ve been tapped to represent House Oversight Dems on the new DOGE committee chaired by Marjorie Taylor Greene. Let’s be clear: this committee is designed to destroy federal agencies and the social safety net so that billionaires can enrich themselves. They ain’t ready for us.”

If Trump wins, the White House will be inhabited by only the nastiest and the nuttiest.

She's currently in a cat fight with that other GOP female paragon of virtue, MTG.

It's precisely who they are as Republicans AND MAGA.  It perfectly represents Trump.  It allows him to be nasty and racist by proxy when he isn't being nasty and racist outright.  She's right about one thing: it should not be tolerated.

Trump loves to promote nasty fights between people vying for his attention, so he must be thrilled.  This particular competition has been going on for a while.

Laura Loomer has also been accompanying Donald Trump around his debate date with Harris, so I assume they found her a spot. Only the nastiest and the nuttiest for Trump's entourage.

Looks like Marj is on the way down and out, as happens to pretty much everybody who attaches themselves to Trump.  Laura's star is rising with Trump right now, but she'll get her turn in the ditch one day, when a younger, nastier, perhaps prettier, nut comes along to attract Trump's attention.

In a series of posts, [Loomer] called Greene “two faced,” “a woman with no convictions” who “sells herself” to the highest bidder “like a hooker,” “the most miserable lying bitch in Congress,” and “a very jealous woman who is now working with MSNBC to attack [Trump’s] greatest Allies” who “must be condemned by all of MAGA.”

As for the tweet, Loomer insisted it was all merely a joke. This sort of thing is a pattern for Loomer: In July, she called Harris “a drug using prostitute.” As for why Harris doesn’t have biological children, she once said: “I’m willing to bet she’s had so many abortions that she damaged her uterus.” Truly bottom-of-the-barrel stuff.

Followers of former President Donald Trump were meant to be startled when they were sent an email Tuesday, addressed from “President Trump,” with this arresting subject line:

“They were authorized to shoot me!”

The preview line in the email did not back down.

Last night, the Heritage Foundation, one of the leading anti-immigrant groups and the hard-liners behind the extremist Project 2025, began tweeting “breaking” and “critical” alerts about an obviously falsified “flier” allegedly given by a Jewish immigrant relief organization to migrants crossing the border into the U.S. from Mexico urging them to vote for President Biden. But the flier is so transparently fictional that even the border hawks at Fox News, including Bill Melugin, dismissed it as suspect. That did not prevent at least three Members of Congress from holding up the falsified flier as evidence of a conspiracy by elites, including Jews, to rig the upcoming election against Republicans by allowing people to vote illegally.

On Friday, former President Trump and Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) joined forces to advance unfounded lies about non-citizens voting at a Mar-A-Lago press conference and indicated that the Speaker would introduce a bill to prevent what is not really happening. Today, the House also transmitted the articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to the Senate in hopes that the Senate will try and convict the Jewish, Cuban refugee and naturalized U.S. citizen of…of…well, it has never been very clear, but they disagree with Biden’s immigration policies, most of which are consistent with Trump’s policies anyway.
