2000 was where we made a serious wrong turn

This is a terrible headline for their discussion.  It's nothing of the sort, and it's such a good discussion.  Al Gore shows us what a lovely, intelligent man he is and what a great sense of humor he has.  2000 was where we went completely off the rails, folks.

Preach, Al, preach

What a different, better world we might be living in if the Supreme Court hadn't elected George W Bush in 2000.

Divergent history

Where might we be as a country, and where might the world be now, had the Supreme Court not intervened in the 2000 election to make George W Bush (aka Dick Cheney) president?  Undoubtedly, it would be a better place.

You Can Call Him Al

A day after the Republican party’s effort to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act crumbled, Al Gore spoke at a community college in Manhattan, NY, about his new climate change movie. Completely unrelated to the documentary, however, Gore expressed his support for a single-payer healthcare system.

[...]

Breaking with ranking Democrats like House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senator Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, Gore told the audience that private health insurance has failed to provide accessible coverage for all Americans.

“The private sector has not shown any ability to provide good, affordable health care for all. I believe we ought to have single-payer health care,” Gore said at the event hosted by The New York Times.

And While We're on the Subject

Do not let anyone convince you that Ralph Nader handed the White House to George Bush.

BINGO.

Not to mention: the Supreme Court, Katherine Harris & Jeb Bush as spoilers for the Democrats.  The illegal removal of tens of thousands of voters from the voting roles in Florida.  What about that?  And the Democrats who voted for Bush.  And the likelihood that had Nader not been on the ballot, the people who voted for him would have just stayed at home because they didn't want either the Dem or GOP candidate.  There's plenty of reason for Gore to have lost the election, Ralph Nader isn't one of them.

So, take that spoiler meme and shove it.
