Dowd's a fool. We already know that from his ridiculous attempt to take credit for Trump's faux pas tweet admitting he knew Flynn had lied to the FBI. And Conway is the sleaziest type of lawyer in the world. I do hope she gets fitted for an orange suit.
It occurs to me that McGahn could be in some trouble. Remember that he was told by Sally Yates that he needed to look at some evidence about Flynn lying to the FBI. Did McGahn tell Trump? Undoubtedly. Did Trump fire Flynn? Nope. Not then. Did McGahn help to make cover for Flynn? When the story hit the press, he pretended to be outraged that Yates didn't tell him about Flynn, which of course, she did. McGahn also reportedly tried to persuade Sessions from recusing himself from anything to do with the investigation, when Sessions very obviously was legally compelled to. That certainly doesn't look good.
Is the heat being turned up on McGahn? Is that why this story has leaked now?
No, but Mueller does.
Let me guess: those aides are lawyered up.
But here's one thing we do know about McGahn: he doesn't represent Trump. He represents the office of the presidency. He's not obligated to keep Trump out of trouble.
Looking forward to Bharara's next podcast.
And we've barely touched upon the pressure on Wray to fire McCabe, who knew about the New York FBI office colluding with Giuliani to force Comey's hand on the Clinton emails.
Trump might want to think about applying for asylum while he's in Davos.
...but hey, do what you want...you will anyway.
