Donald Trump posted on Truth Social today that he can free the Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich from his unjust detainment in Russia—but only after he is elected president.
Evan Gershkovich, the Reporter from The Wall Street Journal, who is being held by Russia, will be released almost immediately after the Election, but definitely before I assume Office. He will be HOME, SAFE, AND WITH HIS FAMILY. Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, will do that for me, but not for anyone else, and WE WILL BE PAYING NOTHING!

Russia poured cold water on the comments almost immediately, when Kremlin spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, refuted the baseless claim, saying "There aren’t any contacts with Donald Trump."

He added, "Regarding [US-Russian] contacts on the matter of incarcerated and convicted individuals, we can say that these contacts must be carried out in total secrecy. This is the only way they can be effective."

Is Putin less than convinced Trump will win? Or is he just letting Trump know who's in charge here?

...but hey, do what you want...you will anyway.
