President Trump's campaign said Saturday it filed a petition for a new recount in Georgia the day after officials there certified the election results showing President-elect Joe Biden with a lead in the Peach State.

Georgia conducted a hand recount of the 5 million votes cast in the presidential race, though Gov. Brian Kemp (R) signaled Friday when he certified the results that Trump's campaign could pursue "other legal options" and request a new recount.

Trump and Biden are currently separated by about a quarter of a percentage point in the state.

GUILDENSTERN: We only know what we're told, and that's little enough. And for all we know it isn't even true.

PLAYER: For all anyone knows, nothing is. Everything has to be taken on trust; truth is only that which is taken to be true. It's the currency of living. There may be nothing behind it, but it doesn't make any difference so long as it is honoured. One acts on assumptions.
