Let the pardons begin

“Donald Trump has abused the pardon power to reward his friends and political allies, and protect those who lie to cover up for him. This time, Trump has once again abused the pardon power to reward Michael Flynn, who chose loyalty to Trump over loyalty to his country,” Schiff said in a statement.

“Flynn lied to the FBI about his communications with the Russians—efforts which undermined U.S. foreign policy after sanctions were imposed on Russia for interfering in our elections. And Flynn pled guilty to those lies, twice,” he added. “A pardon by Trump does not erase that truth, no matter how Trump and his allies try to suggest otherwise.”

Maybe not, but it keeps Flynn out of jail, and that's about all he could hope for.

The Flynn pardon is reportedly the first of several Trump is mulling before he leaves office.

"Several." My guess is he'll also be pardoning his criminal children - which he is allowed to do before they're charged with any fedral crimes. And perhaps his entire criminal cabinet.

...but hey, do what you want...you will anyway.

UPDATE:

Trump IS an organized crime figure.

GUILDENSTERN: We only know what we're told, and that's little enough. And for all we know it isn't even true.

PLAYER: For all anyone knows, nothing is. Everything has to be taken on trust; truth is only that which is taken to be true. It's the currency of living. There may be nothing behind it, but it doesn't make any difference so long as it is honoured. One acts on assumptions.
