House Dems: It's safe to come out now


Pelosi’s move to back an impeachment inquiry drove nearly 60 members in a single day to endorse the effort -- by far the largest single-day spike in support.

Until Pelosi signaled her move, a vast majority of representatives from districts that voted for Trump in 2016 were not publicly supporting impeachment. That dynamic is no more, with even a majority of her swing-seat caucus members now speaking up as well.

Democrats are inching closer to securing 218 votes they’d need for any formal floor vote related to impeachment proceedings as well -- and more are expected to join them soon.

You can immediately see one of Pelosi's reasons for not endorsing impeachment - not enough support - was faulty by the fact that 60 members went into the pro-impeachment camp as soon as she endorsed it.
