Another Republican whose family isn't supporting him

Andy West, whose father is a Republican candidate for the Missouri state House, has joined his sister in telling voters not to support their dad on Election Day, according to The Kansas City Star.

In an interview with the local newspaper on Tuesday, Andy West, the second oldest of his father’s three children, called his father "a fanatic" who “must be stopped.”

“My dad’s a fanatic. He must be stopped,” Andy West told the Star. “His ideology is pure hatred. It’s totally insane."

“If he gets elected, it would legitimize him," he continued. "Then he would become a state official, and he’s saying that Jews shouldn’t even have civil rights.”

Steve West made headlines over the summer for past comments he made online and on his radio show that resurfaced, including one in which he said “Hitler was right” about who was “behind” the events taking place in Germany before World War II.

Andy West’s comments arrived just a day after his sister, Emily West, called on voters not to support her dad in the election in a separate interview with the Star.

“I can’t imagine him being in any level of government,” she told the newspaper on Monday.

“A lot of his views are just very out there,” Emily West also said. “He’s made multiple comments that are racist and homophobic and how he doesn’t like the Jews.”

Steve West told the Star that his ex-wife, who is Emily West's mother, was to blame for his daughter's negative perception of him.

Did the ex-wife also make him talk shit about the Jews?
“I have a good reputation,” he added. “These people are trying to paint me as some monster. But I have been in this community for a long time, I’m very well known. A lot of people know me, and they don’t have those experiences with me. There’s a good chance I’m going to win.”
Sadly, that could be true.

...but hey, do what you want...you will anyway.
