Could Rick Perry be any dumber?

President Trump’s Energy Secretary Rick Perry on Wednesday called the global shift away from fossil fuels “immoral,” saying that it threatened poorer nations from developing economically.

“Look those people in the eyes that are starving and tell them you can’t have electricity,” Perry said. “Because as a society we decided fossil fuels were bad. I think that is immoral.”

So, if we in this country shift to renewable and sustainable sources of energy, wouldn't third world countries be able to use the same type of energy to produce electricity? And, what does starving have to do with electricity.

Perry suggested in November that expanding the use of fossil fuels could prevent sexual assault. “From the standpoint of sexual assault, when the lights are on, when you have light that shines, the righteousness, if you will on those types of acts,” Perry said.

GUILDENSTERN: What a fine persecution---to be kept intrigued without ever quite being enlightened.

PLAYER: Act natural. You know why you're here at least.

GUILDENSTERN: We only know what we're told, and that's little enough. And for all we know it isn't even true.

PLAYER: For all anyone knows, nothing is. Everything has to be taken on trust; truth is only that which is taken to be true. It's the currency of living. There may be nothing behind it, but it doesn't make any difference so long as it is honoured. One acts on assumptions.
