Are we overly enmeshed in the Russian interference issue?

I am of two minds about this.

Yes, the orgy over Trump's likely collusion/conspiracy with Russian actors in order to win the presidency is taking up all the mainstream breathing space, leaving little room for other serious problems, not just in this country, but all over the globe.

On the other hand, the fact that apparently this same Russian interference has been at work in other democratic countries which are also heading in the same "populsit" - read tribal - direction as the U.S. makes it an extreme issue.  Not to mention, the American president has overwhelming global power.  All these other, very serious issues indeed, hinge upon who is at the helm.  Youth unemployment, migration crises, corruption, perpetual war, etc. have always been problems, and will always be problems, but they cannot be solved with the likes of a Trump cabal in charge.  Trump at the helm, and those like him in other countries, are the biggest threats to democracy there is, bar none. What could be more important?

...but hey, do what you want...you will anyway.
