Another tangent opened

Special counsel for the US Department of Justice Robert Mueller is investigating an attempt by President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner to block the passage of UN Security Council Resolution 2334 condemning Israeli settlement activity, according to The Wall Street Journal.

How that is involved in the Trump-Russia issue, I don't know. I think it goes to the question of how Kushner uses his office in regards to foreign countries, but I don't know what the connection to Russia is. Maybe there isn't one. Maybe this is just part of Mueller's very thorough investigation running a fine-tooth comb through any and every affair of the principals. It is at least related to the question of whether and which countries might have been making deals with the Trump campaign.
The UN resolution against Israeli settlements in the West Bank was proposed by Egypt, and the Obama administration controversially decided not to veto it. Israeli officials reached out at the time to the Trump transition team, asking the president-elect to try and exert influence over different countries to block the resolution.

Trump, in turn, attacked the resolution on his social media accounts and called Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sissi, requesting he reverse his country's support of the resolution.

Maybe Israel was also involved in getting Trump elected. Just speculating.

At least this avenue of inquiry might go to the final wrap-up of Trump being unfit for office if he's taking orders from foreign countries. Although, by the measure of Israeli interference and influence, what president in our history since Israel was formed was NOT unduly influenced? Obama may have been the least influenced, but it's been long known that Israeli policy is US policy.

This bit is curious to me...
In the lead-up to the vote on the resolution, there were speculations in the Israeli media that perhaps Russia could veto it, thus protecting Israel from the lack of a veto by the Obama administration. Eventually, however, Russia voted in favor of the resolution.
Why would anyone think Russia would vote in favor of Israel and not Palestine? Obviously, there is a lot I've been missing. Too preoccupied with the Asshole in Chief, perhaps.

And that makes me think, Trump's lawyers have a ready defense of Trump's actions in that they can always say his intentions were never to favor other countries, but always simply to reverse everything Obama did.

...but hey, do what you want...you will anyway.
