A public hearing. The Senate Judiciary Committee on Monday invited Judge Brett Kavanaugh and the woman who accused him of sexual assault, Christine Blasey Ford, to a public hearing next week.
Fox News
Grassley wanted to set up phone interviews. Feinstein said no way. For the big blowards, who had been spouting off about there being no way the Thursday vote should be delayed, to give in to public hearings seems plenty risky. I wonder if they're losing faith that their boy is worth the fight. On the other hand, when Republicans Murkowski, Collins, Flake and Cornyn all said Ford should be heard (not necessarily in a public hearing, I don't think), the blowhards may have lost faith that they could push through Kavanaugh's nomination.
The hearing is set for next Monday. That gives Kavanaugh a full week to come up with a line about withdrawing his nomination for the good of the country and to avoid causing Trump more problems, while still denying he ever assaulted anyone and not having to go under oath in public to state that lie.
...but hey, do what you want...you will anyway.
UPDATE:
And....Roy Blunt!
