Fallout from Kavanaugh/Ford hearings: Prep classmate says he believes Kavanaugh

A high school classmate of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh on Friday defended Kavanaugh against accusations of sexual misconduct, saying "to the day I die, I will believe that he did not do this."

Tom Kane, who attended Georgetown Prep with Kavanaugh, said on CNN's New Day that he watched the testimony of Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford “from beginning to end ” before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday.

Berman pointed out that many people had come to him recently to recount experiences he never knew about, which Kane responded to by saying, "They talked about things they could handle... boys will be boys."

Kane then proceeded to say that if the assault in question did happen, then he would have known.

"Our network, our community, the Catholic School kids, we would have known, these things stick," Kane said.

When Berman pushed back on this notion, pointing out that Ford didn't tell anyone about the instance until many years later, Kane said he had "four sisters, five sisters," and "20 nieces" who have not told him about any sexual assault they experienced.
