No doubt whoever wrote this up doesn't know that the 17th century was the 1600s. I could be wrong. Who knows? Maybe the Mayflower group was greeted with a State Arrival Ceremony given by the natives and no one wrote it down.
Regardless, they haven't even been doing it since the 20th century.
