[A] rediscovered masterpiece by Leonardo da Vinci is now the most expensive painting ever sold at auction.
The painting, called "Salvator Mundi" — Latin for "Savior of the World" — sold for more than $450 million at a Christie's auction Wednesday.

Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if it is. A self-portrait of DaVinci, that is.
And, considering all the inventions he came up with, I also wouldn't be surprised if he considered himself Salvator Mundi.
My first thought upon seeing the Jesus painting was that it looks very much like Mona Lisa's brother, which has also been suggested to be a DaVinci self-portrait.
