Judge Luttig on SCOTUS handling the 14th Amendment question

"These are qualifications, not penalties."  -- Ali Velshi

"This is not a question that's open to the American people. The Constitution of the United States has settled this issue.  [...]  The Supreme Court does not want to decide this case, and it will likely look for every legitimate way possible - legitimate way possible - to avoid deciding whether the former president is disqualified from the presidency.  But having studied the disqualification clause myself for three years now, there are very, very few, if any, off ramps that would allow the Supreme Court to avoid decision in this case - indeed, I believe there are none.  Section 3 of the 14th Amendment simply could not be any clearer that the former president is disqualified from the presidency, as the Colorado Supreme Court held."  -- Judge Michael Luttig

There may be no way the Supreme Court can avoid making a decision, but I am fully expecting them to make one that allows Trump to be elected again.

Yeah, I wouldn't hang my hat on capitalization swaying any SCOTUS decision.

And, by the way, Jim Jordan, and a number of other Congress members who were involved in aiding an insurrection, should also be disqualified from holding office.

...but hey, do what you want...you will anyway.
