Murkowski had to go with the voters in her state of Alaska, and deserves credit for that. This is going to cost her in the Senate. She'll not be getting any cooperation or support from her Republican colleagues after this.
Similarly, I assume Joe Manchin, a conservative Democrat from West Virginia, voted according to what would likely keep him a seat in a conservative state. I hope he didn't throw that away, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him lose that seat anyway, running against the current AG.
This was, of course, just a vote to move the vote to the final vote tomorrow. Interestingly, Republican Steve Daines won't be there.
...but hey, do what you want...you will anyway.
