Trade Implications?
In fact, Cuban-born Posada Carriles, a former CIA agent, is a known terrorist, acknowledged by the US government, implicated in several terrorist attacks, including the bombing of a Cuban airliner and several Cuban tourist bombings. But he is an anti-Communist terrorist, so we like him.
Posada Carriles was actually tried and acquitted in the US and is allowed to stay on the grounds that he would be tortured if extradicted to Cuba or Venezuela. He spent nine years in a Venezuelan prison, but escaped. He had help. I have seen no reports or accusations that he was ever tortured there.
Posada Carriles is living happily in Miami, perhaps still organizing terror attacks, who knows?
...but hey, do what you want...you will anyway.
