Lawrence O'Donnell wrote and produced some of "The West Wing" episodes.
"We are rightly called to find something in our lives worth fighting for – something deeply personal and uncompromising; something that can unite the will of the spirit with the work of the flesh. And when we find that, we will discover fire for the second time.
"And then, we will be able to help lift up this nation and all its people to that place where the heart is without fear and the head is held high; where knowledge is free; where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls; where words come out from the depths of truth, and tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection; where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way in the dreary desert sands of dead habit; where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action. Into that heaven of freedom, Dear Father, let our country awake. Amen."
Note: Sheen is reciting a poem by the Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore, Where the Mind Is Without Fear.
