The VP debate

I only watched the first half.  Vance was polished. Walz was shaky.  But, as Dan Pfeiffer notes, Vance was talking to the pundits and Trump, while Walz was telling voters what they needed to know.

Pretty much sums it up.

Some clips and observations from analysts:

Wow.  Can you signal any harder that you were looking forward to lying your ass off with impunity?

Abortion bans have not dropped in significance for this election.

I think that's a fair criticism.

Seemingly proving Dan's point...

Fox!

To me, one of the most eye-poppingly outrageous moments of the debate was when JD Vance said the Trump proposal of mass deportation was beneficial in bringing down house prices because there'd be fewer people competing for homes.  Let that roll around in your brain for a minute.

This was a serious flub on Walz' part.  He should have just said he was mistaken about the dates, apologized for it, and moved on.

And may I say that if civil rights have been determined to NOT be a states' rights question, then why are women's rights?

Stop electing Republicans.
