Aaaaaaaaaand....there goes another one!

Like rats abandoning a sinking ship.

Tennessee Congressman Phil Roe is not running for re-election.

The six term Republican announced Friday morning he will not seek a seventh term in 2020.

Throughout his career in Congress, Roe has been a major champion for veterans' legislation. He is the previous chairman and current ranking member on the House Veterans Affairs Committee.

He set a personal term limit of five terms when he was first elected. When he announced he was running for a sixth term, Roe said he had work left to do based on his position on the House Veterans Affairs Committee.

The Congressman said leading up to the announcement he was making his decision based on personal factors. Roe added the impeachment proceedings have no impact his re-election decision.

GUILDENSTERN: But we don't know what's going on, or what to do with ourselves. We don't know how to act.

PLAYER: Act natural. You know why you're here at least.

GUILDENSTERN: We only know what we're told, and that's little enough. And for all we know it isn't even true.

PLAYER: For all anyone knows, nothing is. Everything has to be taken on trust; truth is only that which is taken to be true. It's the currency of living. There may be nothing behind it, but it doesn't make any difference so long as it is honoured. One acts on assumptions.
