Trump not welcome in Sheffield

The mayor of Sheffield, England, announced that he was “banning” President Trump from his city ahead of Trump’s visit to the United Kingdom.

Sheffield’s Lord Mayor Magid Magid put on a sombrero while making the announcement at a city council meeting, the BBC reported Wednesday.

The Green Party councillor on Twitter called Trump a “wasteman” — a British slang word for someone with no merit. Magid even wore a matching T-shirt with the phrase.

He also declared July 13 to be “Mexico Solidarity Day,” the same day when Trump is scheduled to arrive in the United Kingdom for his working visit with Prime Minister Theresa May and Queen Elizabeth II.

The BBC noted that Magid does not actually have the power to ban anyone from the city without approval from the council.
