Occupy Lafayette Park

The spontaneously organized protest across from the White House upon Trump's return from Helsinki is still going on.

"We stood outside the Kremlin Annex tonight with a blue wave falling on us and it felt great. Tomorrow marks one week of protesting," Parkhomenko tweeted on Saturday, thanking Secret Service and United States Park Police for their "professionalism."

Personally, I thought it would get ugly immediately.

[Organizer Adam] Parkhomenko said he had received as many as 2,036 donations since Friday totaling more than $50,000 to keep the demonstrations going. He said the average contribution made was $23 and suggested that the funds would be going towards getting Washington, D.C. "its own dedicated baby Trump blimp."

The protests have featured local bands and other performances, including a Mariachi band and opera singers, with the goal of keeping Trump up at night.

I hardly think that's happening, and not sure what that would accomplish.

Parkhomenko said he is looking for bagpipers, puppeteers and an auctioneer that "can verbally reenact outside the White House everything important Trump is giving away to the highest bidder."

That's more like it.

...but hey, do what you want...you will anyway.

GUILDENSTERN: We only know what we're told, and that's little enough. And for all we know it isn't even true.

PLAYER: For all anyone knows, nothing is. Everything has to be taken on trust; truth is only that which is taken to be true. It's the currency of living. There may be nothing behind it, but it doesn't make any difference so long as it is honoured. One acts on assumptions.
