Not the only one, but one of a handful. And the latest.
Having two sons who served in the military, one recently on tour in Iraq, it's hard for me to say this, but I will. We always hear talk about how our troops are defending our freedom, but that's not really true. Not any more at least. They are imposing our country's best interest on the world, which is not the same thing. I know they (at least I assume most of them) BELIEVE they are protecting and defending our freedom, and they cannot be faulted for that.
But the real defenders of our freedom are people like this man, and they do it at great personal risk. I can't even imagine what it must be like to live with the entire force and power of the United States government focused on your destruction, especially these days knowing for a certainty that it does indeed torture and that, at the moment, there are several men sitting in jail for having spoken out against its crimes and abuses.
