Martha's Vineyard shuns Alan Dershowitz

The summer would not be complete without Alan Dershowitz’s annual whining that no one on Martha’s Vineyard likes him ever since he went all in on Donald Trump can have a little unaccountable authoritarianism as a treat (Opens in a new window). It’s been seven years (Opens in a new window)since we first chronicled Dershowitz publicly complaining that the Martha’s Vineyard community stopped inviting him to parties. Now he’s going to sue a pierogi stand for refusing to sell to him over his politics.

[...]

Dershowitz is convinced this is all about Trump, but hey, maybe the guy just didn’t want to sell to the guy who says Jeffrey Epstein deserved an even better plea deal (Opens in a new window).

  Above the Law
Dersh is suing the vendor. Maybe he should ask his liege lord to intervene on his behalf.
“I will be petitioning the farmers market to grant booths only to venders who are willing to sell all customers regardless of religion, race, or political views,” Dershowitz explained to Newsweek (Opens in a new window). Why does Dershowitz get pierogies when gay couples can’t buy cakes?

[...]

Vendors — not unlike lawyers — are free to deny service to customers over their politics. “No shirt, no shoes, no fascist apologists” is an entirely reasonable policy.

[...]

Here’s a thought: has Dershowitz considered just vacationing elsewhere? Maybe Martha’s Vineyard just isn’t for him these days. Find a new island getaway for the summer.
Well, Epstein is dead. He can't go to that island any more.
