Putin to the Rescue

Russian President Vladimir Putin says he is ready to provide records of the recent meeting between US leader Donald Trump and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, to dispel the "political schizophrenia" around the allegations that state secrets were leaked.

"If the US administration deems it possible, we are ready to provide the Senate and Congress with the transcript of the conversation between Lavrov and Trump," Putin said at a press conference, following a meeting with Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni on Wednesday.

That would be a big help, wouldn't it? Coming from Putin, the guy who asked Trump to take the meeting in the first place. The guy he's accused of colluding with.

Unless it's an actual recording, not a "record" or a "transcript", who's going to believe it? Even if it is a recording, there would be accusations of editing.

Besides, Trump already admitted he did it. For humanitarian reasons, he said in what was surely the lamest excuse anybody could come up with. Because he had the "absolute right" to.

...but hey, do what you want...you will anyway.
