Shame on Applebee's

An Applebee's waitress who posted [on the Internet] a receipt with a note from a pastor complaining about the automatic gratuity [that kicks in when there are more than 8 people in the group] was fired on Wednesday after the pastor complained to her manager.

Yes, and as you can see by the picture, Pastor Alois Bell (St. Louis) complained about having to pay Applebee's 18% gratuity when she only gives God 10%. What a dick. Self-claimed Christians have been tithing (10%) to their churches for almost 2000 years, and they haven't raised the amount of their tip once in all that time. Talk about cheap.

“[It was] a lapse in my character and judgment,” Bell told the Smoking Gun, adding she did not expect her easily recognizable signature would be, as her friend informed her, “all over Yahoo. You went viral!”

“My heart is really broken,” Bell added. “I’ve brought embarrassment to my church and ministry.”

You SHOULD be more than embarrassed. You should be ashamed, and you should be contacting Applebee's begging for the waitress to be reinstated. And then you should tip her 18%.

...but hey, do what you want...you will anyway.

[The fired waitress] isn't buying Bell's embarrassment. “If this person wrote the note, obviously they wanted it seen by someone," she said. “I’ve been stiffed on tips before, but this is the first time I’ve seen the Big Man used as reasoning."

And PS. Why did she have to leave NO tip? What about the same tip she gives God? Or half that? Surely he would approve.
