Going down in Georgia

At least two people are reportedly scheduled to testify tomorrow.  One is Gabriel Sterling, Georgia Sec of State's office.  But he was spotted at the courthouse today, so?*
On Sunday, Sterling was asked by ABC News about whether he had been called to testify before the Fulton County grand jury this week.

“My lawyer said I couldn’t talk about this too much one way or another, but if I am called, when I am called, I will go and do what I did before: I will tell the truth, answer honestly,” he said.

I don't think they need to worry.  He hasn't had any protests to speak of in any of his earlier indictments or arrests.

Not much of a showing yet anyway.

To be continued...

UPDATE :  12:42 pm

Pretty big flub by Reuters.  Assume they meant to have the tweet ready to go the second an indictment comes out, and somebody hit the post button by mistake.

UPDATE 12:48 pm:  Or maybe it was the fault of someone at the Fulton County clerk's office.

I'd say that's a good indication that the charge will happen, and it will be against Trump for "RICO and other charges".

Charges (several of each 2-8):
1) RICO violation
2) Solicitation of violation of oath by public officer
3) Conspiracy to commit impersonating a public officer
4) Conspiracy to commit forgery
5) Conspiracy to commit false statements and writings
6) Conspiracy to commit filing false documents
7) Filing false documents
8) False statements and writings

Looks like Willis is taking a page from Jack Smith's playbook by naming only Donald Trump in this indictment.  Perhaps tomorrow's grand jury will have the task of indicting all the other conspirators.  We'll see.

*  Another testifying witness moved up to today:

So, the ones I knew about:  Geoff Duncan (whom Trump warned via Truth Social bleat not to testify, spelling his name "Jeff") & George Chidi "are now expected to meet on Monday with grand jurors."  source

Along with Sterling, those are probably the important ones who were supposedly scheduled for tomorrow.

Maybe the court was hoping to stave off some protests by making it look like tomorrow would be the day, but actually indicting today.

Stay tuned.  It's coming soon.

Apparently, the Fulton clerk's website is down.  Not unsurprising happening after the booboo.

UPDATE 03:55 pm:
The Fulton County Clerk said the court had “learned of a fictitious document that has been circulated online,” an apparent reference to the Reuters report on the docket that detailed racketeering and conspiracy charges against Trump.

  Guardian

It was reported that the document appeared on the court's website.

UPDATE 04:10 pm:

UPDATE 04:48 pm:

UPDATE 05:42 pm:

I hope the grand jury gets to wrap up their work this evening. Surely they will after being forced to hear tomorrow's witnesses (these three) today.

UPDATE 05:46 pm:  Oh my.

Trump's diaper must be full.

Duncan's testimony has concluded.

UPDATE 06:56 pm:

It's 8pm in Atlanta.  This is not fair to the Grand Jury members.  Not to mention, they won't be disposed to feel good about the prosecutors if they keep them there this long. I suppose the prosecutors could have taken a vote to see if they'd prefer to stay longer tonight and not have to come back tomorrow.

UPDATE 07:08 pm:

UPDATE 08:04 pm:  Ten indictments were handed up to Judge McBurney by the court clerk. McBurney looked at the papers and turned to the reporters (when the clerk had gone back out with them) and jokingly said, "Was it all you'd hoped it would be?"

  UPDATE 08/15/2023:

Oh, come on.  They never used the system before?  And even if they really did need to run a test, they couldn't run a blank pleading through?
