Today's hearing had a lot of Pat Cipollone's testimony about efforts to stop Trump from carrying out his attempts to overturn the election via video clips, and testimony of a former Oath Keepers spokesman (who left the organization well before the January 6 events, and a man who believed Trump's lies and was arrested inside the Capitol on January 6.
I was hoping there would be some direct link between Trump and the Oath Keepers and/or Proud Boys. There wasn't any presented (which is not to say there's no evidence he was coordinating with others in the grand plot to keep him in office), but what was presented makes me think Roger Stone should hope his passport is in good order. Trump didn't actually pardon him; he only granted him clemency for obstruction, witness tampering and lying to Congress, which remain on his criminal record. He was not pardoned for plotting a coup.
As always, Aaron Rupar has the goods.
Start here.
The next hearing is scheduled for prime time on July 14 (time yet to be announced). It will focus on what Trump was (and was not) doing on January 6.
UPDATE:
Exactly. I caught that myself. They didn't stress it, other than to ask Ayers to repeat it, but I imagine it will come up in a report or summation of the salient points.
Yes, but when asked by Liz Cheney if he still believed the election was stolen, his answer was, "Not so much."
UPDATE: NPR take-aways from the hearing.
