Oh, Snap

Democratic Sen. Kamala Harris pressed Judge Brett Kavanaugh on whether he had spoken with anyone about special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation.

When he said other judges, the California lawmaker asked specifically if he had spoken to anyone at the Kasowitz law firm about the investigation.

Kavanaugh said he wasn’t sure who worked at the law firm. Harris would not reveal who she was thinking of and Kavanaugh said he wasn't sure who she was referring to.

She then told him: “I think you are thinking of someone and you don't want to tell us.”

Damn. Wish I'd been watching. Surely she knows. And surely he knows.  Why wouldn't he want to say?

Harris is making a name for herself lately.

...but hey, do what you want...you will anyway.

UPDATE:

Here's the grilling:

"Have you discussed Mueller or his investigation with anyone at [the firm of Kasowitz, et al.,] the law firm founded by Mark Kasowitz, President Trump's personal lawyer? [pause] Be sure about your answer, sir."

Shiiiiiiiiiiiiit.

Watch him and you'll know he certainly did.  And she knows it.

"How can you not remember?"

Lee tries to cover for him, and it's very lame.  She's right.  It doesn't matter if he doesn't know all the lawyers at that firm.  And he's having a pants shitting time.  He just keeps saying he doesn't know everyone who works at that firm.

After several minutes, she says, "I'll move on.  Clearly you're not going to answer the question."

I hope somebody draws up a list of attorneys at that firm and asks him the same question.*

He probably still couldn't get pinned down, as he doesn't answer any of the Dems' questions yes or no in a straightforward matter.  It's interesting watching the difference in how he performs answering the Republicans versus the Democrats.

*Actually, the very last thing Harris says she's going to follow up for the record on that. I'm sure we haven't heard the last of it.

UPDATE 9/6:
More clues may emerge as soon as next week, with the California Democrat saying during the hearing that she would follow up on the matter in the form of written questions for Kavanaugh.

Those questions are due to the committee on Monday.
