Governing by whim

Forever, obviously. How many decades have they already been fighting?

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was scheduled to appear on every network [Sunday], and will likely face questions about the now-cancelled camp David meeting Trump announced Saturday night.

What's the problem? He had overnight to prepare!

Trump shocked many in Washington Saturday night with the announcement of the meetings cancellation, with many surprised that the announcement of Taliban diplomats heading to the US would come over Twitter.

If they were surprised by that, they haven't been paying attention.

The canceled meeting came less than a week after the US envoy to Afghanistan announced the framework of an agreement with Taliban negotiators that could see an end to the 18-year war in Afghanistan.

However, a Taliban-credited attack in Afghanistan's capital, Kabul, that killed 11 civilians on Monday as well as one US service member was cited by Trump as the reason for the peace talks' cancellation.

SOMEbody didn't want an agreement happening.

...but hey, do what you want...you will anyway.

GUILDENSTERN: What a fine persecution---to be kept intrigued without ever quite being enlightened.

GUILDENSTERN: But we don't know what's going on, or what to do with ourselves. We don't know how to act.

PLAYER: Act natural. You know why you're here at least.

GUILDENSTERN: We only know what we're told, and that's little enough. And for all we know it isn't even true.

PLAYER: For all anyone knows, nothing is. Everything has to be taken on trust; truth is only that which is taken to be true. It's the currency of living. There may be nothing behind it, but it doesn't make any difference so long as it is honoured. One acts on assumptions.
