Trump attorney John Dowd.
It's not the White House, it's "two sources familiar with the tweet," but indeed, these people are the lowest of the low. Now John Yoo and Alberto Gonzalez don't have to occupy the lowest rung on the ladder of shame. In what could appear to be an effort to shield President Donald Trump from the legal exposure he may have incurred by tweeting about accusations against disgraced national security adviser Michael Flynn, the White House is now claiming that attorney John Dowd authored the ill-advised social media message.
Raw Story
I don't think that's the problem here, although Dowd could be an attorney like Trump's doctor is a doctor, and this may be indicative of the problem, which is: if Dowd is going to claim this lie (which, so far as I know, he hasn't), he's not only stupid, he's pathetic. And, if the White House is going to stick to this lie, shouldn't he be fired for tweeting something like that, implicating his boss in a criminal act? However, as some observers noted, if Dowd actually authored the tweet in question, he used the improper conjugation of the verb “to plead” — the kind of mistake a first-year law student learns not to make, let alone a seasoned attorney like Dowd.
No mistake about it: Trump tweeted that himself, fool that he is. He's always tweeted his own tweets. This is no exception. The idea that Dowd or anyone other than Trump tweeted - or "authored" - it is absurd.
And now he's scared tweeting again.
There'll be no sleep in the White House tonight.
...but hey, do what you want...you will anyway.
