Trump: "I feel about vaccines like I feel about tests. This is going to go away without a vaccine, it's gonna go away, and we're not going to see it again, hopefully, after a period of time. You may have some flare-ups..." Then says he doesn't necessarily mean it goes this year.
Trump on people at the White House getting the coronavirus: "The fact that you have it doesn't mean that it doesn't go away. Right? You can have it and get through it very easily. Some people have a harder time. Most people get through it. Some people are devastated by it."
Trump says that the fact a Pence staffer tested negative for a long time but now tested positive shows "the whole concept of tests aren't necessarily great," because someone can get the virus between tests.
This is precisely why experts say we need widespread frequent testing...
Trump to Kushner: "You've done a great job. Some day people are going to appreciate it. They say 'Oh he's a relation.' Well, he's a relation - if he wasn't a good relation, I'd get him out of here so fast. Sometimes we have a problem...I say, 'Get Jared on it.'..Smart guy."
Just preposterous: Trump claims that Angela Merkel, among other foreign leaders he's spoken to about the pandemic, "view us as the world leader, and they're following us," even if they don't want to "admit it."
Trump: "We may be talking about 95,000 people, ultimately. We may be talking about something more than that." Previous Trump estimates:
Feb 26: 15 cases down to almost 0April 20: 50K-60K deathsApril 29: 60K-70K deathsMay 3: 75K-100K deathsEarlier today: 100K or 110K deaths...but hey, do what you want...you will anyway.
UPDATE:
When I read that Trump said he wasn't worried about infecting the old veterans because "the wind was blowing," my immediate thought was: Yeah, in which direction?"
Toward them.
