"Making a Murderer"

There's been a lot of talk about the Netflix documentary "Making a Murderer". I tried. I couldn't get past episode four.

Here are a couple of prominent bloggers' Twitter posts recommending it.

For me. Harrowing doesn't quite get there. Gut-wrenching. Literally.

Surely there isn't anyone in the US in 2016 who thinks the justice system can't be manipulated.

Indeed.

But, if you're someone who realizes how the justice system in this country works, my advice is not to watch this film unless you're ready to be sickened even more than you thought you could be. If you really don't think the system is rotten, do watch it. You can also watch 'The Central Park Five' - you'll still be sickened, but not for as many hours.

...but hey, do what you want...you will anyway.

GUILDENSTERN: We only know what we're told, and that's little enough. And for all we know it isn't even true.

PLAYER: For all anyone knows, nothing is. Everything has to be taken on trust; truth is only that which is taken to be true. It's the currency of living. There may be nothing behind it, but it doesn't make any difference so long as it is honoured. One acts on assumptions.
