You can't vote by mail if the USPS fails

And if you can't vote by mail, many thousands of people won't be voting.  And that's what Trump and the GOP want.

President Trump reportedly threatened to veto Congress's recent $2.2 trillion coronavirus stimulus package if aid to the United States Postal Service (USPS) – which has been hemorrhaging money due to the pandemic – was included in the final version of the bill, The Washington Post reported.

“We told them very clearly that the president was not going to sign the bill if [money for the Postal Service] was in it,” a Trump administration official told the paper. “I don’t know if we used the v-bomb, but the president was not going to sign it, and we told them that.”

Initially, lawmakers had agreed to include a $13 billion direct grant to the Postal Service that it wouldn't have to pay back. Instead, the country's mail service had to settle for a $10 billion loan that made it into the final version of the bill that was signed into law.

Why is the treasury department approving it?

You want to know what it's like not to have a reliable, fast postal system? Mexico is nearby. Move there for a while.  Of course, if you're a corporation or a wealthy person, you can simply rely on private carriers.  And you already vote...with your money.

Also, the USPS handles a great portion of Amazon deliveries.  If the post office failed, Amazon would have to use incredibly more expensive UPS and FedEx type services, thus costing consumers more and therefore reducing Amazon's sales.  Trump hates Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos because Bezos owns the Washington Post, so Trump would be thrilled to have Amazon lose business.

...but hey, do what you want...you will anyway.
