He's very practiced at forcing himself on women who reject him

Pelosi asked him to choose another date or submit his statement in writing like they used to.  Him forcing himself on the House in spite of that is obviously an autocratic move, but his supporters will see it as not letting himself be pushed around by a woman.  And they'll applaud it.

We may never find common cause in this country again.

Doesn't mean he won't barge in there to do it.  That would be a fun time.  I'd like to see Nancy either 1) put guards at the doors, or 2) wrestle him to the ground.  The latter would actually be my first choice.

UPDATE 1/23:  He tries to make his move, and Nancy officially says no.
