Trump's Priorities

The Wall Street Journal had a talk with the president-elect.
[U]rgent priorities during his first few weeks as president, Mr. Trump said, would be deregulating financial institutions to allow “banks to lend again,” and securing the border against drugs and illegal immigrants.

"Deregulating financial institutions" - isn't that how we got into this craphouse mess in the first place? Isn't that a major factor in Trump's winning the election - because American citizens have gotten screwed financially? Why, yes, yes it is. Congratulations, Trump voters.
He said that people who have money haven’t been affected by the increased financial regulations. “I can borrow money,” Mr. Trump said. “The people who are really good, but need money to open a business or expand a business, can’t borrow money from the banks.”
And that's not because of regulations. That's because the SOB banksters took the TARP money, stuck it in their pockets, and locked up shop.

And here's something else Trump voters are going to be disappointed about:
He deflected a question on whether he would follow up on a campaign vow to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate his election opponent, Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, over her use of a private email server while she was secretary of state: “It’s not something I’ve given a lot of thought, because I want to solve health care, jobs, border control, tax reform.”
Yes, gullible fools, Hillary will not be locked up.

And don't hold your breath waiting for that wall, either. You might all want to buy land on the border and see if you can borrow money from the banks to finance it yourself.
He said he would create jobs through nationwide infrastructure projects and improved international trade deals. He also said he would preserve American jobs by potentially imposing tariffs on products of U.S. companies that relocate overseas, thereby reducing the incentive to move plants abroad.
"Potentially".

I have a suggestion for a jobs creation program: We're going to need a crew to dismantle that statue in New York harbor.
Mr. Trump said he is placing a high priority on bringing the country together.

“I want a country that loves each other,” Mr. Trump said. “I want to stress that.”
Sure, we could tell that by the campaign.
Asked whether he thought his rhetoric had gone too far in the campaign, Mr. Trump responded: “No. I won.”
Bingo.
Mr. Trump suggested he would now turn more positive [...] . “It’s different now,” he said.
Good luck getting that genie back in the bottle.  He might want to prioritize fortifying Trump property if the rabid crowd he encouraged figures out they're not getting their wall or Hillary in jail.
He said the best way to ease tension would be to “bring in jobs.”
At last, something true.

...but hey, do what you want...you will anyway.
