Please Let Us Have Seen the Last of Hillary and Bill

"Dammit.  Fuck this shit."  I can see that statement without her having to say it.

And don't expect the Democratic Party to admit they backed the wrong horse.  Not even to themselves.

Two bizarre post-election incidents crowned this bizarre election: Trump thanked everybody but Mike Pence in his acceptance speech (this is going to be a strange relationship, and I suspect we may see very little of Pence); and Hillary Clinton ditched her supporters, putting off her concession speech until today.
It was supposed to go like this: At the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City, standing under a glass ceiling, Hillary Clinton was going to claim her victory as the first woman president.

That didn’t happen.

She lost, in a shocking upset, and at a day-after event Clinton took a much smaller stage at the New Yorker Hotel in New York City, conceding the election to Donald Trump.

Perhaps, due to the symbolism of the glass ceiling in the building that they were so certain of being able to use for her acceptance speech (I'm sure they chose that building for that reason), they didn't want that reminder when she had to concede.

Actually, I think she's an okay politician.  She's just not a very good person.

Here's Jonathan Schwartz back in March:

To be fair, remember that we don't vote for president, we vote for electors, and Hillary, like several losers before her, won the popular vote without winning the office.

And it's also quite possible that Bernie Sanders would have trounced Donald Trump this year.  The Democrats/DNC played a lousy game from beginning to end.  They earned the loss.

And I'm surprised by this stat.  I had the sense that there was a bigger turnout this year than before.  To be sure, there have been surprises around every corner.

Hang on for the next one.

...but hey, do what you want...you will anyway.
