Dowd IS that stupid - and/or corrupt

John Dowd, President Trump's personal lawyer, tells me that a Trump tweet that caused an eruption yesterday was "my mistake," made in a tweet he had drafted and passed to White House social media director Dan Scavino.

  Axios
Then why does he still have a job?
"I'm out of the tweeting business," Dowd said with a chuckle. "I did not mean to break news."
Chuckled? That tweet is evidence that Trump lied and committed a crime in obstructing justice.  Is that something to chuckle about?  Does Dowd really not know what he's saying?

Further ridiculous statements by Dowd:
Those statements [by subsequently fired AG Sally Yates that Flynn was telling lies] were clearly incorrect — the point of her warning to the White House.

But Dowd says there's a crucial distinction: "For some reason, the [Justice] Department didn't want to make an accusation of lying."
Jesus, this man is a total tool, and possibly on his way to the pokey.
Dowd added: "The point of that tweet was entirely correct. It's just very sad. I don't know why the guy lied. He didn't need to."
Completely ignoring the obstruction of justice part.  Now that's sad. Is he as stupid as Trump and doesn't understand what was admitted?  Or does he simply "need to" lie?

Holy jumped up Jesus. These people are beyond the pale.  At least Reagan (and Sessions) was smart enough to just keep saying, "I forget."

...but hey, do what you want...you will anyway.

UPDATE:

That may just be an admission that he's an idiot.

Sure.  Trumpettes do.

Two possible answers:  1) Dowd is the legal equivalent of Trump's doctor; 2) he didn't draft that tweet.  Both answers can be true.
